Quote from Ehakir: “I'll see what I can do. Before that though, can you confirm that the quality of the pictures I posted before is adequate? Oh and would you like just the DE or would you prefer a clash of armies as could be found in the games workshop books of old? I happen to have a decently painted WDG army that I can put on the other side. ” Clash of armies would be awesome! Focus less on getting "everything" and instead on making the battle look cool. Its better to show less, but in a bett…

  • Quote from Darth_Fraggle: “Unfortunately, as a past host, I just got an email from Gen Con. Due to reduced space, they are only accepting events from a curated list of larger groups. 9th Age at Gen Con will probably have to be a 2022 dream. I've been doing more digging into Nashcon, has that ever had a T9A tourney? ” Nope. But depending on the style of event, demo games are always worth while. We want the unitiated playing the game afterall!

High quality photography > movement tray. if it’s a good picture, the movement tray (and to a degree, the paint job) is irrelevant. we need good photos, and not just high res, but good by aesthetic standards. take your time people. Do it right, do the setup and play with the settings.

Hey Everyone, Want to dial your photography up to 11 and make sure they end up in the books? Use copious amount of *indirect* light so you don't have shadows. Look at what other publications have done. GW, Mantic, Warlord, Osprey, etc... they photo…

Quote from Arduhn: “Ah, good old SCTV. That show was filmed here in Edmonton. There’s actually a bench here with statues of Bob and Doug sitting on it. Man, this just reminds me how lucky we are to have such a strong 9th Age community in Alberta. Well, I say lucky, but really it’s thanks to the hard work, and dedication of some of the guys here who run events. I look forward to being able to actually play games again. ” ‘rona needs to take off eh?

The word derives from "Old English syn(n), for original *sunjō. The stem may be related to that of Latin 'sons, sont-is' (guilty). In Old English there are examples of the original general sense, ‘offence, wrong-doing, misdeed'". (Wikipedia, via the OED). sin is a transgression against a particular faith’s tenets or rules. It is not unique to any religion, but is the English word for breaking religious rules. In the T9A setting this is a real thing. Demon legion players may not be evil, but thei…

Quote from PhearTheHam: “Quote from Ghiznuk: “I just read your description, do you really have Ninth Age tournaments and clubs in the Philippines ? ” Nope thats why im making all of these contents to try and generate interest. We used to have a solid WFB group but when that blew up nobody bothered picking up the pieces. There are players that still play 8E but they're mostly playing in their own homes with their old friends, no more hobby shop events sadly. If I manage to do generate interest im…

  • Quote from spicybarbecue: “to answer the original question, I think allot of ppl don't play because of the frequency of rule changes/army points, every time you almost finish collecting an army the points values or rules change for said rmy and you basically have to start again. this hahappened to my friend that am tring to convince to play the game, he has been majorly put off by this. ” Your friend better not play 40k or AoS - because whoah boy, do those games change all the time! • Quote from Remy77077: “ I've never experienced that type of "WAAC" pushback against T9A though (yet anyway!).. it doesn't seem to make logical sense to me. Maybe because I've been into so many other realms of competitive gaming - to me the fact a game can be and is played sustainably at a tournament level is a huge good sign that it will also be more fun to play at a 'casual level' - however you define that. ” T9A attracted me to competitor gaming for the first time in my 20+ years. • My opinion on this is this: this is a tempest in a teapot. Like negative comments on a restaurant, people hardly detail their good experiences, but everyone gets hung up on their bad ones. the freedom we give hobbyists, and the benefit that brings far outweighs any negative that I’ve seen. i regularly see far more amazing and original creative armies, than lazy abuse of the system. But everyone focuses on the few negatives because well, outrage fuels the internet.
