  • Why isn’t Parry just +3 Def?

Quote from DanT: “Should e.g. deepwatch by hit on a 5+ by os4 troops? Should e.g. imperial guard with shields or DE infantry with shields or basic dwarfs with shields be hit on a 5+ by os3 troops? *shrug* I would say no to these. ” You can formulate it this way to make it sound negative. But also your example only works for exactly +3 Def. If you take +2 Def instead, a Dread Legionnaire can use the shield: vs Off 3-6 exactly like before. vs Off 7+ worse than before. vs Off 2- better than before.…

  • Started of with Blademasters (aka Imperial Guard). I created two prototypes for my colour scheme to decide what I like more: the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…6b985e2a4eb24e7d7c70db25athe-ninth-age.com/community/ga…6b985e2a4eb24e7d7c70db25athe-ninth-age.com/community/ga…6b985e2a4eb24e7d7c70db25athe-ninth-age.com/community/ga…6b985e2a4eb24e7d7c70db25a

  • Quote from dan: “Quote from DarkSky: “Shiny new stuff * 2.1 update: DH ” Hm. My phone is updating with "2.1 second release" however the pricing for DH appears to be unchanged. Am I clicking something wrong? ” No. There is a disclaimer I usually add to the new release postings. There's a time gap (on which i have zero influence) between me doing the update, and the files being picked up by BattleScribe. The DH are in "Third 2.1 Update". Just wait a few hours. You can check here battlescribedata.a…

  • New Release 2.1.15 Fixes * Some other books: All occurences of "Defence" and "Offence" on the profiles have been replaced with "Defensive" and "Offensive". Will not work on the weekend on them, so probably Monday or Tuesday for these.

  • News: Map Pack 2019 update!

    DarkSky - - Archive

    Post

After playing with some of the maps, here is my feedback in case you still review those: Map 1: - Top Side seems quite favoured. Top has two pieces for Soft Cover readily available and easy access to a wall into the centre of the map. A secondary like Hold Centre massively favours top side. - The best terrain feature for bot side (wall in deployment zone) is somewhat negated by a hill in moderate nearness, allowing troops to hide from shooting or attack this position more easily. - Massive Insec…

  • Quote from Shukran: “do bs ask automatically to patch or should i do it manually? In last case, how? Thanks ” BattleScribe regularly asks you whether you want to update your army files. The app itself is updated like any other regular smartphone app. On desktop you need to either download and update yourself or use the in-app updater. In order to manually trigger an update of your army files, click on the icon with three horizontal lines on the upper right corner. Then on the "circular update ar…

  • New Release 2.1.14 New Shiny Stuff - 2.1 update WDG - Includes a much needed update to integrate the Favoured Champions in their normal command group again. Looks much nicer now. - 2.1 update [lexicon]VC[/lexicon] @greentide @Grouchy Badger Any wishes, which army should be done next? Edit: The first two updates are live now. Still accepting requests for next armies to be done. DH is already finished.

  • Quote from Inn0c: “Will we be able to choose between 2.0 and the 2.1 'beta' rules? ” No. If you don't want the 2.1 rules, just do not update for the time being. Reason: From my perspective, even though it is called "Beta", it's not really a beta. It's a normal update with the "if we detect errors, we will do a hotfix"-clause. From a versioning perspective, this should be 2.0 → 2.1.0 → 2.1.1 (if necessary), not 2.0 → 2.1.beta → 2.1. Additionally, there is nothing that breaks the game between 2.0 …

  • Quote from Gingasmite: “Ooohhh, update has come just in time for our big gaming weekend. It's there an approximate ETA on the BS updates? No pressure, just working out if I need to bust out my excel sheet to take advantage of the tastey new point reductions or not. ” I will work today on the points, however I want to finish the Cultists first. The thing I can't control is the time I finish my work and the files being live. In the past it took between 1 hour and 2 days, so I cannot promise anythi…

  • Thanks for making the thread the-ninth-age.com/community/in…working-on-dread-princes/ obsolete @GSbasic

  • @Goatrek What is your estimation on the "wetness" of the rules. Do you foresee a lot of changes? I am asking whether it is a good time to start making a BattleScribe file for this, or whether it's too early.

  • Quote from DanT: “@DarkSky I think your educated guess is in danger of being seen as a project prediction. Could you ask a relevant staff member to post a more official educated guess please? ” You are right, I was a little careless in that regard. I added a big fat reminder to my posts. As of asking the staff member to post a timeline: I'd rather not do it, in the past the staff has been asked so often about timelines and dates and has been flamed for posting something which could not be held, …

  • Quote from Angord: “What are your thoughts? ” It's a cool and innovative idea. It reminds me a little of some rules I suggested for the Divine Altar rework back in the day. I made a rule something like "on a combined charge, each unit may use the roll of a different unit". It was targeted to minimize the chance of trying a multi-charge and having only one unit succeed (which can be devastating and happens quite often due to the nature of probabilities). On the issue @GSbasic brought up: If you w…
