  • Quote from niceguy.dk: “Thanks @Hombre de Mundo for all the quotes. It looks mostly like it's a conceptual choice to increase unit size. In that case it's someones personal vision of what is cool, that changes what it requiers to play the army. ” I might be misinterpreting this but, this is hugely oversimplified. Speaking as a game designer here: When you design a faction, you need to identify its place among the other faction: that becomes its identity. Imagine if there were only two factions i…

  • Okay, now I seriously want a bayonet upgrade for handgunners. Future LAB designers, pls

  • Quote from niceguy.dk: “Has the reason for the change in size been officially stated? ” Don't believe it's been explicitly stated but it's in line with the VS Guidelines. Select quotes, emphasis mine: Quote from Page 2: “Everyone is expendable - the swarm above the individual should be the leading theme resulting in a (compared to the game wide level) lower eliteness. Compared to the slim 2.0 version of the book, the average eliteness of both base troops and specialist units should be lower. And…

  • Quote from unstaible child: “im tempted by the idea of a russian themed empire army any ideas what i could use for greatswords? ” I use these guys from @Norbaminiatures, sadly discontinued: Screenshot_2.jpg

  • Quote from unstaible child: “communist russians? how much did you pay for them ” The HE legs? Not much. I find that you can get quite cheap bits from common unit boxs like that on buy/sell groups on FB and such.

  • Depending on what models you use, this may or may not work. I had old GW handgunners. You'll see a blurry image here but the model in focus is the one you wanna see, the one next to him is also kneeling. 3057-12ff3230-large.jpg The kneeling legs are from High Elf bowmen. Now, they do wear a long coat rather than puffy pants, so you'd have to deal with that somehow. Since my army is communist russians, I made fur coats.

  • If the status affects "the unit" as opposed to "rank and file models" or some such, then that includes every model in the unit.

  • Quote from Eldan: “The general I always use is a mage with heavy armour, a halberd, a flamethrower and a bionic arm. Yes, I can play him as a Tyrant - no flamethrower, no magic - or just an engineer - kind of represented, but can't be my general. ” If I were to represent a model like Ikkit as accurately as possible it'd be a machinist. You have both a coil and a naphta there, representing Ikkit's equipment (though not as a halberd in melee), then give him Lightning vambraces for the damage spell…

  • Quote from niceguy.dk: “hmmm been looking around now and got to say I am not hooked. I'm not impressed with the model results and I have no interest in all the technical stuff. If they become good enough to match plastic and GW details then maybe. But I doubt I will own a printer before it is as common as smartphones ” You'd have to make a fairly conscious cost - benefit analysis here. If you want a good printer and quality resin that can achieve amazing details, then you'll need to pay for that…

  • I was thinking more like... 5th edition clanrats, rat ogres and characters. Models that are older and mostly monopose. For things like 6th ed clanrats, yeah you'd definitely want the sprues. Othwesie you'd need to do the same process with each differently assembled clanrat But unless you really like those models, I'd go for something like these guys instead (kind of a mix between clanrats 6th and 7th). they're modular and don't have the strange proportions of the GW clanrats that don't mesh well…

  • Quote from niceguy.dk: “Will it ever be possible to print all the old skaven models. ” It already is Keep in mind that - especially when it comes to minis of this size - you'll want a good camera to capture those details and you might need to do some clean-up manually. Also, the more complex the mini, the more pictures of difficult angles you'll need, increasing the manual work needed if there are angles you just can't capture.

  • Would look good even for alpha, keep it up!

  • Quote from Gym Shorts: “I think UD are actually weaker now than they were previously because they basically haven’t gone anywhere, while many other lists have improved, and those that were better than them didn’t change much. ” Well, this is probably due to external balance. One of the goals is to make sure the underperforming armies get a sweeter deal than overperforming ones, in order to level the playing field. Not sure where UD is at this time though but in the WDG thread it was stated that …

  • Quote from JimMorr: “@DanT lets look at what LAB team has just proposed: they introduced requirement to possess at least 3 mortars, 3 ratling guns and 3 napatha throwers if you want to keep them playable. Such requirement has never existed. Neither in any version of Wfb not in t9a. This is no longer an issue of entrance barrier for new players. It is cutting off existing players who do not have today spare 5000 points of models. I am afraid I'll have to give up VS: from what I see I'll have to d…

  • I heard you wanted cool wizards? 3051-363016e6-large.jpg

  • Quote from Eisenhans: “If the project forbids the use of models I've bought for this specific game by an arbitrary cap where there was no cap before they have invalidated them to me because I cannot use them for what I bought them. ” It's not an arbitrary cap. It's a calculated cap for gameplay balance that will likely change as playtesting progresses and even into beta release and those changes are data-driven. This game has changed a lot in the years it's been around. Surely you don't expect a…

  • The LAB team does take model invalidation into account. But that means exactly what you said it means, Bogi: Your current models should fit a role in the new army book. So your current jezzail will still be a jezzail. Jezzails being capped at 12 is not considered model invalidation, though capping units is also being considered - but mostly from a balancing standpoint. This started in 1.3 even, when we introduced category caps to reduce spam lists. Then, some units in the army books also have in…

Hombre de Mundo - - Website Helpdesk

    Post

The website logs someone as a user when they visit the site from a Polish IP, so this does not account for VPN tunnels or IPs that are otherwise not identified as coming from Poland. Things like that could skew the numbers but otherwise, it could just be that polish players have a much higher tournament participation than other countries.

  • Quote from Smythen: “Only thing is I'm not sure what other armies got. But how I like and want to play has definitely been advantaged for EoS, more than ever before. ” I checked both VS and UD thoroughly and EoS definitely got buffed in comparison, by no slim margin either. Then again, those are high performing armies compared to EoS
