    I played my first game against a VS list with DE, Frontline Clash, King of the hill My list (Hidden Content) His list (Hidden Content) He started and an impassable basically divided two zones, in one whe had 6 jezzail + engineer + cannon and blackfurs facing dread legionnaires + bsb + one unit of axiliaries + mist leviathan, in that zone i basically sacrificed my auxiliaries to do some wounds to him and put him in a bad position, the auxiliaries only killed like 7 at range and 1 in cc because 3+…

    The design look solid to me, number of hits, Str, Ap and range could change to adapt to what's balanced, i expect some sort of skew toward being a bit weaker than a magic missile because of the versatility. For instance something like the gorgon effect to wound could be intersting, wounding on x+ depending on the size of the model, even if Str4 sort of mimic that because is gonna be standard 3+/4+, large 4+/5+ and gigantic 6+, it's only a bit better against elves.

    It's written in his comment : the spell (read : Curse of the Phantom Queen) was not deemed good enough if there was some magic resistance at play, so that's a matter that regard exclusively the DE hereditary spell and not spells in general

    The new DE hereditary begs a question, why the wording used there : "Gain a Veil Token that is not removed at the end of the spell's duration" could not be used also be used with the ID hereditary ?

    I have to say that it's an interesting approach, less strong in CC and better against ranged, having a list with channel 5 i think i can put that to good use, 8+ as casting value make it a bit onerous to cast though, with a warlock it's 4 dice to cast with reasonable safety, add to that a couple of veil token for a good effect and it's starting to seem not that good of a trade, however it ignores range and Mr and it let you choose targets soo in the end i overall like it(still would like 7+ cast…

    I played a couple of games with the first release and 5/6 with the latest alpha (one was a mirror match), the lists were all more or less academy focused with raiders/destroyers/Acolytes/Mist leviathan support and always the effigy of dread (love that plus Di10 and Outcast), for the next iteration i was thinking still academy focused but with a beastmaster and a couple of mist leviathans to have some fun with minimized/maximized stomps.     I can see him with druidism in an cc/push oriented list doing a sort of "shooting magnet" role, the point is that if the dragon is shot then the other units are safe and the dragon can heal and negate the damage, while if the dragon is not shot it would be easier to join him to combats, and if there are cannons you can hide and use terrain i guess, i'm not sure if it would actually work on the table though, it seems just that much easier to get Prince, Paired (titanic), Obsidian rock and a Druid…
