Quote from Happy Aspid: “Don't forget about potential of beard flagelation! ” I just imagined a dwarf with a beard divided into two braids and at the end of each braid metal decorations ending in spikes and small axe heads, whipping himself and killing enemies while moving his head in circles like a heavy at a concert.

Quote from Davian: “Also, I would like the Kings guard to be greybeards as well :p I can see the entire title of "veteran" to be removed in the book and replaced by "grey beard". Since for me they represent the same thing in the dwarven society. edit: Does the artillery unit count as 1 of the 0-2 cannons? or does it count as both cannons? edit2: I think the ability to choose which kind of warmachine the artillery piece after deployment is a tad bit too strong and also a bit weird. Both from flav…

Quote from Davian: “I am quite fond of the massed artillery concept. That was the idea. DH only has infantry and wm, so I wanted it to feel more varied by having more artillery on the table. I think that is something which should be a generic rule. Unfortunately BRB is Gold, so it can't be changed. However, as someone who practises and fires 17th century artillery, I would like the rules for the artillery to be make them hit their target easier, not do more damage. I don't think opponents would …

Quote from Folomo: “TLDR: I really like the effort you have made, but it seems the book was made bottom-up instead of top-down. There seems to be a lot of effort into improving each entry, without a clear direction for the book overall. It doesn't really solve any of the DH problems and doesn't really open different ways of playing. What are the problems with DH for you? I think I've given MSU variety and by making WM weaker/cheaper, I've improved the Mixed Army. In general, it feels more like t…

Perhaps there is a balanced order of power between the 4 species but in the past the Cuatl were rulers of the other three, so in the present of equality, the other lizard species are forced to keep an eye on the Cuatl in case they try to break the new order.

At first I felt that MSU was too ugly for DH but over time I have come to realise that it is the spamming of clone units that is ugly. When I see a list with 6x10 warriors I don't like it, if I saw a list with 2x10 miners, 1x10 Seekers, 2x10 Marksmen, 1x8 Rangers and 2x10 Forge wardens I would think it was great. I think if the new LAB wants to have MSU's, they should allow more variety of small units and limit them so they don't abuse spam.

A lot to think about. Thank you. Elaborate feedback is what I like best. I'll comment on your post in more detail later, but I wanted to make a quick note about Sturdy. Quote from Folomo: “Sturdy This one feels schizophrenic. Looking at the options, there is no link between the 6+ different studies. Some models get lethal strike, others +1 str, other +1 attack, others lighting reflex, etc. It doesn't seem to be coherent. Especially not with the name sturdy. More in general, is Sturdy a rule that…

Quote from wombat: “Just given the Homebrew a read through. Not enough time to consider all the options but not a fan of random movement for DH irrespective of purpose / use. ” I understand that. It was a fun idea, it's just not one of my favourites. I could remove it or change it with no problem, even though it's only on warriors. I don't think it's bad at all. Anything you particularly like?

Quote from Davian: “My favorite part so far is the extra move for friendly units when charged great rule! Both flavorful and useful Edit: it is a little difficult to see the full view of the army Because of the multitude of options. It might be an layout issue though. great job ” It's only 3" but it can be vital to turn a little and see a unit that was previously out of sight by a few millimetres or to get closer to an enemy's flank.

(not commenting on power level, just had a glimpse on it, but on the level of special rule bloat. ) ” Thank you for your response. When you have time, I would like you to take a closer look at it and tell me what parts you think are missing and how to fix them. It's true that there are some upgrades in units, but I don't think it's much …

Here it is, the fruit of a lot of effort and the creativity of the DH community, with my personal touch. I hope you like it. Before I go on, I must warn you that this document is not official and has some points that was a failed attempt to give balance to the units, but I was saturated of trying to do it. It really isn't easy. Ignore the cost points of any unit, at best, feel them as a guideline. I tried to make it so that there were fundamental pillars of a lot of customisation, mainly because…
