  • Quote from AEnoriel: “It would be so much more comprehensible if "wounds before saves" and "wounds after failed saves" didn't share the same name. I understand it has something to do with WHFB legacy, but why not try "Wounds" (before saves) and "Damage" (after failed saves) for example? ” This already exists: Wounds (before armour and special saves) and Unsaved Wounds (after armour and special saves) the issue is that there is no word for wounds “after armour saves & before special saves”

  • @Edhelnaur It's not useless on FW, is just less efficient than on our other infantries. With 1 VT you negate 2 wounds, which on FW would usually result 1 casualty due to Aegis. So 1 VT = 1 saved model. There are cases where this may be worth it, specially since it's aura and you can also use it also on other units. Against Divine attacks, which is one of the weaknesses of FW, it becomes a better investment. Do you realise your suggestion is 6 spell-effects rolled into one spell?

  • Quote from jaith1: “Quote from Zwei: “I am confused now. How does it now work against a model with a special save that got hit by a attack with multiple wounds? I have to sacrifice a veil token to reduce the number of wounds if i don't successfully make the special save afterwards? And if i roll successfully, my tokens are lost? Is that right? ” If you roll successfully on you special save then your tokens are lost, correct. If you fail, then you reduce to amount of MW by 1. The spell never inhi…

  • Quote from Eisenheinrich: “As for the (supposedly) changed mechanic: ... When the spell was deemed to powerful, a few changes were introduced (not by the task team but by RT I assume, so I don't have any insights into the discussions at that point), including moving the trigger to before special saves. The spell hasn't changed significantly since then afaik. ... ” Those discussions happened in the Task team forums. I was actively involved as well as our RT representative and RT greenlighted the …

  • @Eisenheinrich Also note that with that errata change, and the way it is worded, it could now be (mis)understood as: Flame Wardens receive 14 Wounds in Melee all at same agility step. FW use one veil token to cancel 2 wounds. For the remaining 12 wounds they can’t use their Aegis(4+) Please recheck, thank you

  • Quote from matrim: “@calcathin You're a few versions behind... The change to the interaction between the spell and the special saves was made long ago. So it was either special save or discard token for a long time ” That’s not correct. I was part of the discussions when those changes where made during the hotfix and this is not how the spell was redesigned (check out again the wording in the book and you will see). The change to “before special saves” was not preventing a special save, it saves…

  • @Arthur Thrilled to see that Queen´s Cavalier list with Ancient Dragon and Fleet Officer Griffon, so cool! @Vespacian @Axiem @Eisenheinrich I believe there is an errata in the new errata for HbE It indicates that no special saves can be taken, and this changes the way the spell currently works in models with Aegis & more than 1 wound. Can you please raise it internally? Example: A Prince on Griffon with a 4++ Aegis receives a cannonball - Before this errata, you can spend a veil token. Then you …

  • Quote from Ivar K: “When do we get DE patrol? ” When we release the book later this month. If enough people show interest on it and request it maybe we even consider another news post with more spoilers

  • Hi @flammy` First, be aware we are publishing an update very soon. This Sunday there will be News update post that will give you insight into what is coming. It may also give you something you can start working with in the meantime in the form of a spoiler . That being out of the way: There is 2 approaches: Basic and Advanced. In Basic: lists are premade, there is no points or army list-building. You play with what is indicated to you in units and models In Advanced: The character and unit optio…

Much better then, as that allows you more flexibility in fielding either Core Archers, Queen´s Guard or skirmisher Grey Watchers. Specially playing them as Queen´s Guard will open up a lot of lists by filling those precious Special points. The on-foot BSB is quite handy too, as you now can have a 3-character set-up with Wizard Master, BSB on-foot and Prince Griffon for example; for example, it could be a Queen´s Companion BSB into a unit of Queen´s Guard Sidenote: Those archers also makes it muc…

Welcome Uradel! As Vesp mentioned, you have a solid start collection. Specially with this mage + character on Griffon it’ll make for some fun lists! At first you will most likely want to consider using those human spearmen until you grow your forces, either as Spearmen or even Sea Guard(!). That would allow you to save the Cavalry for Special (Ryma), where you have far less models otherwise. With what you have, you could field 3k comfortably, even up to 3.5k! As an example: - Wizard Master Asfad…

  • @piteglio players choosing the order is already added in the lates version awaiting recompiling Will check on the rest of your suggestion and bring it to the internal threads for validation

  • Hi @mclizard You will see these rules clarified in the upcoming version. Anyway, these cases are always tricky to handle. You would pivot the orcs “virtually” ignoring other units to face directly away from the cavalry and move them the flee distance (with their starting position being their back rank touching the cavalry) Then move the Wizard and the cavalry in the desired order. Here what is important is that the 1” spacing rule is maintained at the end of the move, and if that is not the case…

  • Team @Lawot and SE! Happy with Map6 as it’s been requested by many. Its 2 forests will make the sylvans feel like playing home

  • Quote from Bloodgeyser: “Quote from calcathin: “So, while the 3 levels of magic for most army’s mages are Apprentice —> Adept —> Master, for HbE is Adept —> Master —> Asfad ” That makes a lot of sense. I did not consider Asfad as another level but it does add up. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It also brings a question about the Canreig side's contribution to the step above Master in your example. ” Canreig is slightly different Using the University example from above, Canreig is like …

  • It is such the skill & proficiency in magic of the Highborn Elves, that the lowest level of skill for a Highborn elf mage is what other races refer to as an Adept, while the highest level of proficiency surpasses that of most other races So, while the 3 levels of magic for most army’s mages are Apprentice —> Adept —> Master, for HbE is Adept —> Master —> Asfad Think about it in a way where in University terms an Adept has a Degree in Magic, a Master has a Degree+Master and an Asfad has a Degree+…
