    Mr.Gobbo - - General Discussion

    Post

Well said! I did address the flawed logic of comparative suffering in the original thread, but since I also addressed the attack on my educational level/field, I felt it was best to remove my reply before it was taken out of context. You have written a more eloquent statement than I ever could.

  • Quote from Mortus: “I do not think anyone is helping here. This thread should be locked and I'm point my finger multiple directions as to why ” Everybody okay with me locking the thread? PM me if you want to appeal the decision.

  • Alright - I think think this thread is close to have run its course. Let's all cut down on the "personal attacks" (I'm guilty of that myself!) We're all getting reported to the moderators, I tell you! Let's attack the arguments, and not the person behind them, even though the alternative *IS* rather tempting. That way, I won't have to deal with staff members getting reported for breaking house rules and communicating in disrespect to the users on our forums (the dark side of HR work). PLZ HALP M…

  • Quote from Nemeroth: “@Mr.Gobbo I missed that bit. That is breathtaking ignorance and arrogance. ” I would go with Hanlon's Razor. Helps me let go of frustrations and anger. Quote from Nemeroth: “Lockdown put me back on anti-depressants and beta blockers, for many of the reasons you gave, attitudes like this make me sick. I would have achieved far more Work for the BGT if COVID had not happened. ” I'm sorry to hear that! I hope you get more help than just meds - a combination of medication and t…

  • Quote from Joel Elijah: “We all are well aware of the COVID situation . When i came back here i though the lockdown would increase the work hours of the team but for some reason it seems the opposite happened ( that is not my opinion but what @Calisson told in the announcements linked in the second post ) . That the progression slowed down during the lockdown does not make sense to me . ” This one stood out to me. OF COURSE the work slowed down. People getting "more free time" = / = people doing…

  • Quote from piteglio: “i was wondering, if you had to cite T9A in an academic work, how would you go about it? would you cite the website only? was the rulebook registered (e.g. by @Uthegen when printing on Amazon) to a national library system? cheers, ” Depends on the format. APA? MLA? ISO 690? If APA, I would cite the website, as we have only really done online publications.

Quote from TobiasP: “Great bases. GW's nurgle slime thing could be a nice contrast (pun intended) for the grey tiles? (and also very sewer-like) ” Cheers, that is exactly what I have used (Nurgle' s Rot) on top of Caliban Green. I guess I just need to use more of it next time! ... It was just a prototype/test, after all.

Alright! I did this today as an experiment. My goal is table top standard or slightly below, because I have to paint 400+ models, and I am not a skilled painter. Never was! The experiment is twofold: 1. I wanted to test out contrast paints! The "fully painted" rat was painted in about 5-10 minutes with only single-layer contrast paints (except for the metal bits on his weapons) cpObfsQ.jpg U684C0d.jpg RQ6LFQI.jpg MSP9hqN.jpg 2. I wanted to see if I could move away from the old 90's vibes with Go…

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK. This is possibly one of those posts where the writer goes: "hey, I have revitalised my interest in painting, and I will be assembling army x, painting y amount of models in z amount of time", and then it just dies pretty much before it was even born. Here is the deal: The only fantasy army I have ever owned was O&G. That's pretty dedicated. However, over the last few years, I have been participating in more tournaments, culminating in being a mercenary at th…

For 60 points apiece I think that I will continue to take some mad gits instead. ” yes, indeed. They are quite "meh" in my experience (tested a list with 3x wrecking ball giants, 3x scrap wagons and 2x wrecking teams).

    Post

I think the prospects of having the WTC at a hotel in Amsterdam is really cool, and should be pursued. Especially if having the tournament remain in Herford will lead to the event being dropped altogether (as I am reading between the lines [burnout]). For my part, the price (travel expenses, etc) will spike from around €250/person for a 3-day event (with the singles tournament) in Herford (a 550km trip) to around €500-600/person for a 3-day event in Amsterdam (a 750km trip by car). A difference …

Quote from zKoTTe: “Battlefocus shooty VS armies? ” double catapult, double globe launcher, doom bell, plague pendulum, occultism and thaumatology (shooty is shooty), 2 units of plague brotherhood (battle focus), and 2 units of plague disciples (battle focus). Double dreadmill (RIP in peace, Gargantula and GGI). Battlefocus + hatred is SO good, especially when you get to strike first

Quote from Warboss Tooth: “omfg thats horrible ” Yup. I take comfort in the fact, that I would have lost the game anyway, and that both unlucky events happened in a game that was already a red matchup. My Swedish DL opponent was very kind, and a pleasure to play against. So it didn't hurt too much. Always lube up! Now, had they happened in my game against VC or VS, my team mates would have been very disappointed by me getting 0 points.. :3

Quote from Herminard: “but its neither good for the team, nor the results nor the morale nor the adventure itself to keep feeding someone red matches. ” well, for my part it was my own fault. My list was too one-dimensional. I didn't create a list for smacking vamps, shooty-battle focus-vermin swarm, daemons or monster mash. And those were the armies I met The ID-battle was a bit crazy, and I felt unlucky that I lost it. I was so tired that I forgot to stomp the ID Lord (who only had 1 wound lef…
