  • Quote from Marcos24: “Angels would be freakin sweet actually ” Quote from Marcos24: “@Nerocrossius in fact now I have an idea for another set of models ” I actually used some Angel models as Marshals on Pegasus for a long time—sort of like Avatars of Sunna.

Quote from Pellegrim: “It seems Wrath of Mod has hit James Mcdonald .... terrile shame, I enjoyed his discussions. Shame if that is a reason to ban someone these days. Only makes this forum weaker imo. ” I don't know the entire context in this case, but the ban may have had nothing to do with this thread. For sake of clarity, there are a lot of factors that play into the mods banning someone--usually it's just a short time-out for getting a breather from the forums. For instance, we have a few p…

  • This is probably my own bias, but I don't find EoS cavalry to be optimal at combat in general and I don't necessarily agree that they're stronger than EoS infantry. EoS cavalry tends to play more utility roles. As such, I think they actually fulfill their role as supports for infantry units quite well. 3x KotSG make for adequate flankers and screens against shooting, but I don't find them reliable combat units--I much rather have combat dedicated infantry. Units of 5 KotSG are decent if they're …

  • Quote from arwaker: “Out of curiosity: Would you use Knights of the Realm instead of EoS cavalry units, if you had access to both? Do you think Knights of Realm are better for their cost? They are not as armoured, but have Lance formation and 6++. It is not so easy to to choose. ” Personally, I think overall army context is too important here to make meaningful comparisons. But, in a vacuum I think Knights of the Realm are probably better combat units. Electoral Cavalry make better scoring darts…

  • Quote from Bloody MIsfire: “Anyways, looking at the general opinion in this thread, and looking at our army book as rationally as Im able to, I do agree with the great many people who also think greatweapons for IG, and lances for the knights, are too expensive. So it seems Im pretty much aligned with the majority view. My comment to Dan T was simply to point out that we are some who use what we have, not because it is good, but because we like the looks of it and don't like to proxy. ” Thank yo…

  • Quote from Ondjage: “I just really want 10-man units of reiters with repeater handguns to be decent. Such a cool and unique unit (does vanguard+unwieldy exist elswhere in the game?). I dont understand why they suffered a 5 pt price increase in the newest patch. ” 10-man repeater units are pretty strong and viable. External experts were quite concerned about their power level in 2019 even. I like to run them with heavy armour and have divination adept on horse (for guiding light, Altered sight an…

  • Quote from Mirdhynn: “@Nerocrossius : Thanks ! I assume this strategy only works with a unit of knights. It would be far less effective with an on foot version (even with Ranger's boots) ? ” You mean an inquisitor on foot? If the inquisitor is on foot you can't maximize durability and mobility as well. The knight unit is mostly a transport tool. Cav picks do allow it to play as a mobile anvil though. You move the knights and then bring a halberdier support unit near it to threaten counter charge…

  • Quote from Mirdhynn: “Can someone explain me the role of : - 10 rangers units ” Essentially chaff. They're hard to shoot, scouting give them a lot of flexibility and they can threaten monsters. Quote from Mirdhynn: “ - The 2 inquisitors ? ” They're cowboys and pins. They move out and threaten key threats and help support the other units in forming a battleline. Because of how mobile they are (20" march from banner of speed and movement order slingshot) they can position in really awkward places …

  • Here's the single, solitary EoS tournament list from Wardia Pretoriana I: 440 - Wizard, Wizard Master, Cosmology, Magical Heirloom, Sceptre of Power 395 - Inquisitor, Horse and Light Troops, Shield, Halberd, Repeater Pistol , Locket of Sunna, Dragonfire Gem, Silver Shots 355 - Inquisitor, Horse and Light Troops, Shield (Dusk Forged), Hand Weapon (Hammer of Witches), Blessed Steel 230 - Knight Commander, General, Horse, Shield, Lance, Obsidian Rock, Potion of Strength 220 - Marshal, Battle Standa…

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “On the top 3 concerns of the community. ” ACS waited until today and then tallied up all the comments that people made in this thread, in the Three concerns thread and the EoS general discussion thread. 14+ people asked for IG GW so that was number one concern for sure. 12 people asked for some combination of Electoral Cavalry equipment options to be reviewed and 8 people asked for Mount limitations to be reviewed. So those were the three most requested by the …

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “Are we going to have a vote? ” I'm sorry, I don't entirely understand. A vote for what?

  • Quote from Tyranno: “Quote from Ondjage: “@Nerocrossius Thank you for tre reply! My impression of spears vs halbers was wrong then ” The politeness in this forum blows me away :3 ” EoS Subforum is the best forum on the site in my opinion. Everyone who posts here is simply amazing!

  • Quote from Ondjage: “I have two thoughts that I just need to get out there: 1. If crossbows are to go up a point because they are half a point more effective than handguns, then spears should go down to zero points. 2. The cosmology attribute should get the same treatment as the druidism oaken throne. The black/white -1 to cast token should be shared between any wizards with cosmology spells. ” Crossbows and Spears are not similar situations. In 2020 tournaments non-support unit Spear units were…

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “Also, maybe dropping Blacken Steel by 5 points. Then making Imperial Seal + Locket of Sunna mutually exclusive. This would break up the power combo of the dueling general prelate and the battle focus battle standard bearer, that started to take over as the got build of EoS. Because we already have superior combos with Death Warrant + Willows Ward + Alchemist Alloy + Lucky Charm, so no one would consider Blacken Steel + Death Warrant again. ” I can totally see B…

  • Quote from Uradel: “Well in any case, I am going to try out Reiters with light lances and shields now! They may suck, but I'm still going to try it! ” If you get Reiters with Lance and Shield you can then pay the extra points for Heavy Armor to have a fast vanguard units with 3+ AS which is pretty solid against shooting. If you want you can spend 15pts for champion with repeater pistol which gives the unit 3 shots too. Try them out in some capacity and open a thread with your thoughts! I think t…

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “If I recall correctly, when GW went up in points, the change also happened to ice and fire, along with cart going up in points, and foot marshals builds + prelates. Also, it seemed questionable that year if EoS was in fact a top tier book, out side if spain EoS was not seeing much if any success, if I recall correctly @Fthunder had one of the best showing for EoS in the english masters, and he got 7th.... Teams that took EoS did worse over at ETC that year as w…

  • Quote from Uradel: “1. Reduce cost of GW for IG. Far more players prefer IG with shields instead of GW as of now. ” I'll be sure to tally this up as well as all your concerns, thank you for posting! Quote from Uradel: “2. Why make crossbows cost an extra point but leave handgunners alone? Make them the same price either way. Each unit has a trade-off, be it range or AP. ” Crossbows were used significantly more than handguns (90/10 ratio). As such it was decided to try making crossbows cost more.…

  • Ah, good catch, I forgot there was a period of time during 2018 that Steam Tank was cheap enough to allow that combo. I don’t recall the combination being played much during that time so it doesn’t stick out in my mind. Either way, it’s relatively new in 2.0 EoS.

  • I don't want to give names for the players of some of these lists as some might not want them public yet, but I can attest that several of these lists have significant testing and are piloted by some pretty skilled people. Indeed one of these lists (and its pilot) was one of the top performing EoS lists at Ocho last year. There are quite a few copycats of Konrad's double inquisitor list which was consistently one of the better performing EoS lists last year by multiple people--so in those cases …

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “So there were more EoS lists in 2020 than in 2019 . For reference, in 2019 it was 1.03 light infantry per list in 2019. The lack of big heavy infantry blocks stands outs and no rockets. ” I cannot speak for 2019. A good 40 if not a lot more EoS lists didn't get to see play last year because of COVID cancelled events last year (inter region had 20 EoS lists alone). I include those lists in my calculations, but TA may not end up counting them for 2020 as there we…
