  • Quote from subspace: “Of course I always welcome some doom & gloom but you all might be interested in the way in which the project actually works with team tournament data - they do not process an army's indivdual results but instead the overall scores of the teams that the individual armies were part of. So basically the strength of WDG is determined by how successful teams with WDG were in comparison to those without and not by how many points WDG lists scored. So despair not - thanks to this …

  • They keep the spike shield, but cant use it in melee. In meee you have to use a weapon if you have something else then the basic one, spike shield even if it is offensive is not a weapon ... So you would have the +1 armor bonus at range, but will have to use paired weapons in melee.

  • Around here it was the opposite, 3 players started ID ... I am tempted to start every new LAB to be honest

  • We cant make conclusions with those 11 lists only; but those are actually quite interesting and some points really must be considered. 1. All those lists have the same structure: some magic, a fighty character, warriors (or mounted barbarians) to fill core, one tanky scoring unit (CK, knights or feldraks), 2 chaffs and then complete with monsters. 2. Most (83%) of the warriors units are Lust 3. Many units are not used or under represented (Chariots, Forsworns, Wretched beasts) 4. All list are qu…

  • Quote from TJKL: “Apologies for the late reply, I do engage with the T9A community and very much like to do so on these forums. However, truth be told - WDG are like my 7th or 8th army choice, as such I felt it was best to leave the army list building and opinions to others who are much more serious WDG users. Of course, I have played against them countless times but felt it was best to leave it to others' more expert opinions. ” Any feedback is valuable ! We cant base everything on a single gro…

  • I agree that WDG lost a lot of gameplay possibilities. I was checking the WTC lists, and to be honest they all have the same base: magic set-up, one melee character, warriors (or mounted barbarians) core, one strong mobile unit (CK, feldraks or knights), 2 chaffs, then complete with monsters. This is the usual WDG list we see, and the one we are seeing for like 2 years. List possibilities we had: 1. Infantry lists with mobile units spam 2. Aggressive heavy infantry list (once-chosen) 3. Flying c…

  • To be honest I have a mitigated opinion of the book, I really like some parts and dislike others. But I keep enjoying the games I play with it, that is the main thing. It just feels sad to have a lot of miniatures that stay in the shelves because I do not like the current state of the units they are supposed to be. One thing to remeber tough is that the unit you like might be the same other people dont like, and vice versa. What I believe is the main reason behind that frustration, is that our b…

  • Guys, please keep it constructive... I do not mind if a feedback is positive or negative, as long as we can somehow use it we'll try to.

  • My main deception comes from warriors / chosen. Warriors are imho too expensive. I do not say that they are not worth their price tough !!! But I would have liked to see a cheaper version of them, with only one attack but giving us the possibility to field more units. Marks also are kind of a failure, there is just too many of those and people always play the same ones... the thing is that every player has his favourites... Yet some marks rarely see games... Beside that, EH is great (I find it t…

  • I also like to play with the current book. I just would say that some units seem unattractive, but again that is a personal point of view. I totally agree that some newcomers might easely like the book as it is, but I believe it is harder for people that were playing it at the release of T9A or even before... people that expected to have a way to use their miniatures in a game and with an army that allowed a playstyle close to what they knew. Drastic changes were made, and some of them attract n…

  • Guys, do any of you have more feedback on the VS Lab ? We currently have few things to say, and if we d not give constructed feedback now it might be too late to be heard later on...

  • It really is the way to go at the moment. I used to play a lot of Feldraks when the usual WDG list was the hellmaw ++ and had pretty good results with a really unusual list: 3x6 feldraks with heavy weapons + flying lord or chimerabarb chief as only character. Opponents saw it as "weak" because it had no magic...

  • I totally agree, I just feel bad about our book and the fact that it is done and cant hope for any changes before years. Otherwise, I agree that new labs do wonder to be honest I never had so many temptations to begin new armies...

  • Hehe I'm still trying to find a unit that can handle 60 VS legionaries with shield and spears, full command and rending banner, played 7 wide. Those 445 points probably are the best investment against us at the moment ^^.

  • Plop ! Je t'invite à rejoindre le groupe 9th age belgium sur Facebook. Hormis cela nous sommes une petite bande sur Bruxelles mais plutôt dans le Nord (Heizel). Un de nos membres est sur Uccle et débute également. Go mp si tu veux

  • I'd go for X-1. What seems weird to me is that we are trying to rewrite a rule based on the fact that we all already know what we should understand (RAI). I'm concerned about people discovering the rule, it is really clear as you wrote it, but we probably might go even further and explain the mechanic in duel that might be misunderstood.
