  • Is it an objective that the number of entries and options are similar in all books ?

  • Quote from CariadocThorne: “@Falco Yes, the idea was to replace both AoN and TFA with something which could be used as either, but also as Orion-like, Ariel-like, or something else entirely, like a fast tank with tree and swiftness, or a cheaper caster with just life, or just fury to add punch to a Thicket Beast unit. @nantuko Anyway, as I said, I've been told that my idea is probably asking for too much out of the AoN, so my question to you guys is what would you like to see from the AoN when o…

  • Quote from CariadocThorne: “Quote from Falco: “Add witchcraft for trees on the mix and we got it ” I think Witchcraft is more likely on Elves than on trees, either as normal path access for druids, or some kind of partial access via Briar Maidens (normal access being my preference). On another note, what do people think about the AoN? Currently it's just a fighty treefather character, but it's name suggests (to me at least) that it could become something much more interesting. Below is an idea I…

  • I brought it because i found it weird, but it really has low gamplay consequences. It's mostly a consistency matter imho.

Yes it definitely is a narrow case with low impact on the game

Quote from Alexwellace: “It wasn’t overlooked, it was directly pointed out several times over production, it had just been ignored. Blade dancer characters also are missing light troops, meaning that while a single blade dancer model in a forest would be stubborn a blade dancer character is not. There was an argument that characters don’t need light troops because stubborn single model characters are a bad idea, but honestly I think it’s just a basic consistency issue that’s taken far too long t…

  • Trying to set up a pathfinder char, I realized that they don't have light troops. In particular, if they're not in a sentinels or pathfinders unit but forming their own unit, they can't march and shoot. How weird is it that ? I guess it is an overlook that never got spotted because nobody plays PF kindred. Should it get an errata ? Also while I'm at it, coould someone please confirm that Hail Shot suffer from move and shoot penalty, but benefits from the Prince's Accurate rule ?

  • Someone proposed a monster hunting light monster, like a giant Tiger or Wolf or something, that could hunt other monsters. Maybe with some kind of crippling wound effect. I would find that really cool. Also some way to have more powerful Giant Eagles, something like LOTR would be nice to make them something other than sacrificial chaff. For now, they're weirdly weaker than kestrels.

  • Well since as you say they are all very good players playing the same list, we can say without much fear of being wrong that it is (one of) the best list. I guess it's a stable and resilient list, with clear game plan and objectives. It's consistent. A contrario playing wild hunters is probably too dangerous and there is too much chance it goes completely wrong I guess.

  • Quote from Hachiman Taro: “If only there were big tree like models with giant bows available... ” Not a fan of these "Bow Thickets". That's a bit weird and it would need heavy fluff justification. There are a lot of other units i would rather see added in the book. For exemple I would love an option for treemen to throw rocks while they are three inches close to some counter (rock stock). Very costly catapult, but that turn into a fighting option later in the game

  • Also during the tournament I had a lot of discipline problems. Dragon and multiple units failed panic test, once bsb was killed spearmen failed break test even with steadfast, etc. I consider using banners, but since I usually play multiple small units, It's full price to protect only a couple of figurines. But small units implies rolling panic tests very often.

  • Quote from Henrypmiller: “How would people feel about reducing the range of the sylvan bow? It could be 24" range, but short range is 15" or something similar. I quite like how it works now but im just curious. ” I'm not fundamentaly against it, but what would it bring ? Also then we would really need some long range shooting to deal with artillery or other long range gunline. Also, what would you think of such an artifact ? Quote: “Mist Trinket 25pts: 0-2 per army One use only. The player may c…

  • I've played a 4-players team tournament this weekend (Bellum Lacum IV) that included teams from casual to ETC. Our experience probably wasn't really representative, because over 5 teams, we had 4 Ogres, 4 Vermins Swarms, 4 Vampire covenant, 3 Undying dynasties and 3 WDG. Nevertheless it was quite interesting. I played with : Quote from Serwyn: “A dragon lord (titanic might, hail shot) Treeman Master druidism 5 sisters with champion BSB with Hunter's Honour in 24 guards with spears 12 Rangers 2x1…

  • Quote from Henrypmiller: “Quote from DanT: “Quick comment: Supernal is a strongly background driven concept, therefore which troops can receive it is strongly background driven. I don't know what this means for tree spirits and the LAB as I was never on the background team. I would advise following this up with BGT before the whole SE community falls in love with supernal as the answer to all its problems ” Was going to reply to this but then...Quote from CariadocThorne: “In BG terms, forest spi…

  • Team tournament in france, 5 players over 95 playing Sylvan elves, which is quite close to the expected amount (only slightly below).

  • À unit of forest swarms with possibility to be either squirrels, birds or feys would be really nice. The feys could have a sweeping debuffing attack.

  • Imho it's hard to jusdge the update just with bare eyes, since it was only small balance changes. I'm confident that BT used data well and hence that these changes ar good balance-wise. Otherwise I stand as before. The balance between our units is quite good, and all feels pretty usable (even if some are less satisfactory or seems a bit hard to make good use of), and that's cool. Our character section however still feel weird, with toons of unused options. All in all, I think SE are in a fairly …

  • No I think the main reason why mixed arms aren't successfull is because in T9A you want to take a lot of things that ar vulnerable to the same things and resistent to the same thing. If you take one unit of trees and one unit of elves, then your opponent will use his light shhoting against your elves and heavy shooting against you trees. If you have only elves or only trees, half of the opponent menaces have no good target. It's for the same reason you want to take multiple monsters or none, bec…

  • Quote from raulmartinv: “Quote from Serwyn: “Forest Guard 140pts [Core choice] 5 * Mar * Off * Def * Str * Res * W * Agi * Att * Dis * 5 * 10 * 4 * 3 * 3 * 1 * 5 * 1 * 8 ” Offensive 10? That is the March attribute, isnt it?Anyhow, I got your idea. That would be great, but I believe that players are playing more and more the current Forest Guards due to their price decrease (they are super cheap nowadays). ” Yes, i used the wiki table, which has still old stats
