  • Here is an idea about how I would like our forest guards/rangers to become: Forest Guard 140pts [Core choice] 5 * Mar * Off * Def * Str * Res * W * Agi * Att * Dis * 5 * 5 * 4 * 3 * 3 * 1 * 5 * 1 * 8 Unit type: Infantry; Base size: 20x20 mm; Unit size: 10 * Special Rules: Forest Walker, Lightning Reflexes, Scoring Equipment: Spear , Light Armor, Shield Forest Guardian : +1A, +1S, +1AP, +1Ld * Options: May add up to 35 models (14pts/model) Must choose on of: Sylvan blades Spear and shield Halebar…

  • My worry about them is that they may be quite big compared to other models

  • Quote from Hachiman Taro: “Whirlwind blades used to didn't they? But they feeling was it wasn't efficient or something. ” If I remember correctly it was because it was too good at killing monsters on a shapeshifter, and even had the potential too oneshot them

  • Quote from infamousme: “Never seen those redline blade dancers before. For that price theyre excellent... even though some look like they'd make better ghouls than elves. ” Yeah I think they look like giant Gollum.

  • Quote from Little Joe: “@Serwyn, @Fleshbeast Thanks for tagging me. I did not even know that 28.5mm round bases were a thing. At that base size and 25 for many others size should not be an issue. Worst case some creative basing with twigs solves all issues. Sprues speak louder than painted miniatures: 99120201085_WCCypherLords07.jpg 99120201085_WCCypherLords08.jpg 99120201085_WCCypherLords09.jpg From a pure library point of view: sure why not. This looks like a better place to start than plastic…

  • Quote from Kdownunder: “I am using Raging Heroes as my dancers. Now they have plenty of new nice looking models which can be recommended for your purpose. ” I guess you speak of the Death Dancers? They're too pushed and too evilish looking for me.

  • Hi my fellow woody elves ! I was looking for cool models for Blade Dancers for quite some time, and today I fell on the Cypher Lords from Games Workshop by chance. While they're maybe slightly muscular for elves, and the helmet are a bit original, they're looking quite nice and I think fit a wood elves army. Moreover they aren't too costly (55€ for 16 minis) are in plastic and you can even get some cool Character from the set. Did someone already try these models as Blade Dancers or otherwise ow…

Personally I find it fair that it counts towards unseen arrows. If I remember well, light troop mounted wizards is someting RT wants to avoid, and completely refused us. The champion is not a full druid, but it is still an adept with access to some powerfull spells. If it really isn't a competitive choice, maybe offering her 50 points of magical items could be nice, but i really feel like having her in unseen arrows is a fair restriction.

Quote from CariadocThorne: “Whirlwind Curse was inspired by similar weapons we used to have, and the idea that we could use our ability to hit first to give us an edge in combat without having to rely on killing an enemy before they get to hit back. This is a big thing for me. Designing based around killing the enemy before they get to attack back is fine for rank and file, but with expensive stuff like monsters and characters it causes problems, as it takes glass cannon design to extremes, and …

There are some interesting changes in there. I like the change to master archers and elven cloak. I don't feel that it is fair to get bonus against all kind of magic though, so I would prefer some bonus against magic missiles and attacks that ignore to hit modifers, but the idea to tie it to being in cover is a good one. I like the removing of divination. It never really interested me. I think it's better to have the option to be a wizard on the ancient dryad rather than on the druid to become 2…

We were just saying that their outputs, especially at long range, is not so good. Also they're fragile and costly. So yes they're good at killing light cavalry, they can dodge infantry blocks, but basically you lose the matchup against any other shooting unit in the game, and to magic. Finally most armies w…

Quote from Chack: “Let's try to make some order in the discussion, in this game there is a difference between being good and being elitè exactly for question like these, there is also a difference from being overall good and being good in certain situations and finally also the avaliability of a particular unit inside and army. On top of these you have to consider wheter something is needed in a certain army. 1) Beig elitè : Our shooters are surely elitè in the T9A definition of the term, they h…

After listbuilding for a while, I think that all our units are playable and the internal balance is good. Our characters section and especially the kindreds and magical items still feel weird and kinda weak however, but that's mostly due to design and not balance or cost. So I would say it's a good update and the book is in a satosfying state. I hope that when the fab come we will get some stats increase. The design was really conservative, and the following numerous costs decrease of our units …

Quote from Druzi Darkfist: “You can't use Ranger's Boots with the Shapeshifter. Well you can, but it won't do anything. The movement is set to 6/18. The build is still interesting and 485 points. ” No, "set" modifiers are applied first, and then you apply static + bonuses. If shapeshifter said that movement is always 6/18 then it wouldn't work.

Interesting update. It may open interesting builds. Do you say it is the final update because it is the last of 2019 or because there won't be any update anymore before fab ? Edit : Found the answer.
