Quote from DarkSky: “Guys, you know that politics are off-limits in this forum. Please don't make me do cleanup duty again. @setrius If you want your DE army to be really evil guys, nobody stops you from envisioning a legion/expeditary force whose general is a cruel sadist who revels in the pain and agony of his victims, regularly feasts on the flesh of his captives and commits atrocities left and right. Just don't expect the whole faction to be the comically evil you want. ” That's basically a …

Let me know what dates you might have available coming up... I've gotten things more organized and settled as of late so I'm hoping to get in some gaming afternoons. ” watch out, he plays rats, and he's now an expert with an excavator!

Some amazing work so far. I also cannot stress how much 3D printing is happening in this group. Most of the GW minis are from people who had collections from old projects, or bought second hand. I think anyone building 'new' is either using historicals/3rd party or 3D printing. I think the group has a total of 8 printers between all the participants. the-ninth-age.com/community/in…de14170fe98462e849c8af5dethe-ninth-age.com/community/in…de14170fe98462e849c8af5dethe-ninth-age.com/community/in…de14…

Hey everyone, So back in July some of my local group decided to do a slow grow to try and gain some interest in the hobby. We had a small (4-6 person) group of consistent gamers in the city of London, Ontario (and surrounding area). We posted this to the local Wargaming pages (primarily 40k/AoS) and had an amazing response. From our core of 4-6 regular players, we have the following as our Slow-Grow sign up: Mike J. - Empire of Sonnstahl* Luke - Saurian Ancients Evan - Orcs & Goblins* Ian - …

If you're on facebook, I would look up the Ohio 9th age group - may be some people there. @dan you know anyone out that way?

It's like playing some single player game and the missions are all the same with some slight variations.I actually enjoy playing against (and making, of course) extreme lists. They give you more of a puzzle to crack, and not the same thing of everything being just about close combat, or things that you can do outside of close combat that are just some kind of modifiers to it. ” no on…

  • IMO WAAC players don't play T9A - because you can't make the same game-breaking combos that GW allows. WAAC players (excluding outright cheaters or intimidation tactics people - they're a different category) don't actually want to play the game. They want to win at the list stage. Not the game stage. T9A (and some will disagree with me here) is the worst game for people like that to play. I think GW games (and others who follow their model) really lean towards list building as the primary win st…

  • Quote from darkknight109: “Quote from kisanis: “I also need to stress, so many people seem to have been conditioned into believing everything has to be *official *sanctioned and otherwise spoonfed to them. I just cannot understand this. From my earliest games in this hobby I built my own scenarios, set my own backstories, and made my own house rules. Like, did anyone ever actually read those opening blurbs from priestly and all? Take what you like, change what you want, and above all have fun. T…

  • Quote from jirga: “@RobertR Less flavourful for you but not for me. You can't make ultimate statements like that because flavour is a subjective matter. Also you can't group all casual players under the same umbrella. I'm a casual player and I appreciate rules which are balanced. ” The only tabletop games I have any interest in playing competitively is T9A, Bolt Action, and maybe DBA, if I find a scene for it. Quote from IntrigueAtCourt: “It's much easier to house-rule the removal of restriction…

  • FYI. We started a Slow-Grow league here in Southern Ontario. we have over 12 people signed up, most of whom are new to T9A, with about 25 following with interest. 3 years ago, we had 2 players in my city. Within this group, we have maybe 4-6 3d printers, and a big stash of STL files. Some food for thought about how different the market of today is, from the market of the 90's.

So it will have less releases. Maybe it will not need power creeping. ” why do you think so?there are 3 core games now, AoS, 40k and LotR and for now it looks very much like TOW is replacing LotR as core game ” LotR is …

Started a London based slow grow league. I’ll post updates here. we’re almost at 20 people so far!!

  • Quote from Pellegrim: “Quote from Marcos24: “Why the heck would I want to play two similar games? ” Can I fill this in? You will end up playing two very similar games. TOW, because its that awesome WFB continuation you so seek, and cause it will create a big player base, and people like playing opponents. And then 9th Age, at least for a while, out of loyalty towards it, and because it is still a solid game. Let's bet a beer on it, and we'll test this in a few years. ” I ask yet again, why in go…

  • Quote from Kodos der Henker: “ GWs problem was never overreacting but that they don't know the difference between Trademark and Copyright, given that the head of the legal department was no IP lawyer until recently this is no surprise ” Hi, Son of a marketing and advertising person here. No idea if its true, but I completely doubt it. Everyone in graphic designer knows the difference between those two. I'm pretty certain any lawyer who so much as googled "IP law for dummies" knows the difference…

  • That’s awesome! what’s the MSRP gonna be on that starter set??

  • *not staff post, my opinion* Most standard sized infantry on 20mm bases should be 15-25 models On 25mm bases it should be 10-20 horde armies (goblins, vermin, skellies) should be at 35 - max. easiest way to turn down the damage output is to get rid of supporting attacks altogether. This would also massively improve the trade off between standard formation and line formation. seriously, by removing supporting attacks the game becomes immensely simpler, it will make rank bonuses and standards bett…
