A bit earlier I said that Corsairs should have Strider (Water), and now I'll continue that they could also have Guerilla Warfare, but for Water terrain. So Strider and Stubborn in Water. Nobody bring up the fact that most sailors in the past didn't know how to swim, please.

  • Quote from Baldin: “They largely behave the same ye, but I can't find any model with flying that is nog light troops. It's kinda weird. Also, it's a slight nerf due to the hippo with light troops being stubborn in the forest due to guerilla warfare (iirc) ” Honestly, it's pretty damn inconsistent at this moment, but from what I remember this is how all LAB books are done - If it doesn't need to be specified, it isn't. So the WDG Chimera and DL Blazing Glory with Fly don't have it for example, bu…

  • Quote from berti: “Base size of the gryph changes to be 75 mm long and 50 mm wide. Pegasus is a lot worse and has the same wide base. So I see no reason why anybody should ever choose a pegasus as a mount. ” It can almost certainly join units of Pegasus Knights just like now, so the usage case remains the same as now - Flying bus. And the Hippo remains as a solo flier. I believe this is solid proof about the theory of Pegasus Knights losing Skirmish, though - The base size increase is so that th…

I'm really not sure what you're going with this line of thought anymore, though. Like - You want to play as the bad guys, yes sure, that's already in the books. But then there's these weird examples, and... What IS a "bad guy", then? Someone who unabashedly says "I am the bad guy!" and revels in it or what? Because nobody does that. Not even the Dark Elves did that. Not even the DROW do that.

T9A has always been about that contextual morality, everyone considers themselves the heroes of their own stories after all, and even the darkest races have reasons for what they do, that make perfect sense. But just because something may be the correct thing to do, does not make it the right thing to do. So DE are cruel slavers, raiders and conquerors, but also a race that stood on the front lines in the rebellion against the overlords of the entire world in the ancient days, and it's easy to s…

And then we'll see you next month when you have something more to say. You do you, but if you've no intention to commit to the message you want to send, which I assume is 'T9A has failed me badly enough that I will quit', a rather powerful message all told, then I fail to see the point of doing it in the first place, it's just petty showboating.

I'm not sure why you'd bother, all the weight the dramatic motion of deleting your account was sort of lost when you just remade it and came back. Doing it again would just be comedic.

Quote from Kriegschmidt: “What I would deeply hope the team will take away from the last couple of pages is: There are people (plural) bothered by similar, fundamental changes/losses, who have given up posting about them. ” There's not much to take away from that, for the simple fact It doesn't really matter what is done, some people will be unhappy and some will be happy. It's quite literally unavoidable, especially when some people consider the most minute of things as absolute lynchpins to th…

Shamelessly plugging myself, but after a month in the slow, slow, SLOW writing, the report for the match between me and @Bladeox is up in my DE MSU list topic, and can be found here: Assassins Are The Patrician's Choice / Palmu's Dread Elf MSU A word of warning - It's a mess, written two weeks and then A MONTH after the game was actually played because I cannot do proper time management. But it is still done, with pretty pictures!

  • Effects that start with 'this would surely be debilitating for a human' generally don't make the cut because that same effect might have zero effect for any of the other races on the field that effect would need to debilitating for as well.

Even now, I can't come up with many situations where one of the three isn't useful. Granted, the Hereditary and Effigy kind of fill the same needs.

I'd say that on a Conclave, it's good to have one great spell and the rest situational ones. If all the spells are great, it makes a pair of councils better than having a single wizard - This isn't ideal in my books, Councils should be supplementary units, not the main draw of magic...Unless it's designed the other way around, of course. The Acolytes are already damn attractive as is.

  • As scouts and outriders is the most sensible, I'd say the only reasonable role, as there they provide a service that undead have a harder time fulfilling, and are in a reasonably safe place on the battlefield to further reduce casualties. Then of course, mechanically Scouts die first on the field, a great example of gameplay & story segregation.

Quote from Kriegschmidt: “We absolutely, definitely do not. If anyone tries to tell you different, they're lying. I've read elaborate explanations of the cleverly-worded "community-driven", which means: take advantage of the community for playtesting, draw from the community for forming design teams, etc., and in no way be beholden to the community whatsoever. ” So what you're saying is, the moment you join the a team here you cease being part of the community? Or is there a part of the process …

Losing the Wheel would be a huge blow to the army, it's one of the lynchpins of infantry-based MSU - A defensive spell on demand is a huge boost against monster lists, going from +2 wounding attacks and stomps to +4 is huge. I never leave home without it. Also - Raven's Wing, a lesser spell? Perhaps the most powerful spell in the game, a lesser spell?? Ignoring that, I rate the fact that it's a bigger boost to MLU or FLU armies as a huge minus against it. Those huge units can maneuver much more …

Quote from Lord Drakon: “A group of creators made warhammer AB's in their ivory tower and we all loved them (unbalance aside). ” Hey, I started hating the majority of books the moment I actually learned how to play the game. When I was still a beginner I loved everything I read but the better I got at the game the more I resented it. Problem was that there just wasn't another option in games if I wanted to actually play with people.

By the functions of the attribute, it kind lf does. Unless we make a rule that says all spells are auto-amplified by sacrificing slaves at the camp, which begs the question why doesn't everyone else with occultism do the same? Why even have the attribute to begin with? The more I think about it, the dumber Occultism actually is when you seriously think about it. Now I need some fluff to explain why occultists can't just drag a lobotomized slave wagon with them to battle to use as sacrifices.

Quote from Peacemaker: “I did forget about Harry Potter. Conan is a grey area. It doesn't have much defined space. I'd say it's fairly generic like D&D. Zelda has been retconned with each new game so many times It doesn't count. It's basically 3 characters in a random fantasy setting - Link, Zelda, Gannon. ” Honestly they might as well be retcons, but the games in the setting do in fact follow three or four different timelines, with each game in the series being in one of them, they just flip be…
