The canons, guns and armoury improved in exhausting speed. Quote from toots: “Shamanism ” Isn't that a lore more suited for races with less attention to discipline and well-kept appearances than Dread Elves? I mean DreadElves/Beastmasters aren't attuned to their inner beast. It's more of a case of breaking beasts Currently it is a lore mostly for SE Druids, Ogres, Orcs and Beastmen. Skinks also have it, and their less-than-bestial nature makes the match more of a stretch, but being in pact with the savage jungle perhaps explains it. Not a good fit thema…

  • Quote from Vulgarsty: “Quote from Wesser: “We have a lot of factions already. Will the game really be better having more causing each individual Army to be played less and less? When going to a restaurant a menu card with too many dishes on it is a bad sign as its usually means frozen food or lower. The more factions the lower the quality seems an inevitable outcome ” But I wouldn’t say the supplements today are ready meals from an Aldi freezer section. They are fantastic jobs. ” Yes, they are B…

Quote from Girien: “Quote from Wesser: “Quote from Thomashkis: “@Wesser I imagine the issue is less about Fast Cavalry and more about the Core section not being a source of chaff units in the future. You can still take 8 fast cavalry in Core, and you can still use them as redirecter. It just cost you extra (so if you want dedicated chaff all armies should ideally be spending special points). 170p is not preciselly a chaff, also some of us this was or main unit on the army going through gaps and …

Quote from Thomashkis: “@Wesser Thanks for comments! Well thanks to you as well. Constructive suggestions and opinions are great even if we dont agree much :) If DE are the first army to receive LAB treatment from all the elven armies I would say it's even more important to voice our concerns now. Because I do feel that in the same way Shadow Riders are an important tool for the DE, Elein Reavers and Heath Guardians are important for HBE and SE respectively and they all have a place in Core. If …

Quote from Thomashkis: “ There are decisions that are really strange and offputting toward most people that are explained by fluff (which doesn't exist yet) or by some murky preconceptions envisioned by a couple of people (called guidelines), but I would like to remind you that T9A is a game. Fluff is nice (if done correctly), but it should not interfere with rules. Several examples: - Chaos Warriors are the most formidable killing machines to have ever roamed the battlefields according to fluff…

Quote from dan: “You’ve been playing Sylan Elves too much. Goblins are already going to have a bunker with a mage and a BSB in it, and it’s almost no additional investment to give the BSB Maza’s and the unit bows. With the 39 shots in your example shooting at a Res3 5+ armor chaff unit, Flaming Swords is the difference between wounding the unit and wiping it out. At close range that same unit actually starts doing work: that’s almost 9 wounds to a unit of Elf anything with a 5+ armor save. For 2…

Flaming Swords are a waste. You still cant hit or penetrate armour and a character with Mazas just make the unit an easy target worth lots of points But you Can take 39 Common Goblins with bow, shield and musician for about 300 points in 13x3 It Can annoy elves and DL armies to an extent at least and against the armies where they arent likely to cause any casualties whatsoever you Can always form Them into an HWS tarpit Expect little results either way and dont bother boosting Them with magic, b…

Hey @Caledoriv About the Kensai: - The reason you dont see BotD Vampires on foot is because a) Its poor use of its bonus to armour and b) because these expensive Fighters needs to be in CC ASAP. I get your reasoning, but still find it overly complex. Is it too strong to just give him “Cannot be Stomped” in Duels or as part of a Dance? About Shinobi: - Its really niche being part of a “Mon”, but I wasnt referring specifically to snipe effects, but to anything that affects units outside the actual…

  • Quote from Necrosa: “Insects would definitely get my vote. I dream of it since years and do not understand why we never saw it before. I liked this idea so much that I've tried to build something this way a lot of years ago. Even done some game with it. Good old days... ” Likely because its more of a 40K thing? And you already have undead to be sort of a drone-Hive mind thing

It will just make it better and more all rounded. Might even be able to use it on mounts then. ” Once again. The ability to combine a weapon of this kind (even if toned down) with High agility and good defence is where it Will actually be broken There is IMO zero problems with this weapon bec…

There are jezzails, there are GW guys in big units, there are the murmillo brutes, there are the random movement abdominations, and even three of them for absurd low point costs.
