  • Quote from spicybarbecue: “in real life something that is gigantic is also considered to be large , that's just how logic works ” In the game though, things are compartmentalized. A gigantic model is gigantic and doesn’t count as large. It is usually much bigger. That is why there are large things that have Towering Presence in some rare occasions. That rule (TP) is the common ground of certain models if it needs to be.

  • Quote from spicybarbecue: “if you are gigantic are you also considered to be large, logic would say yes, but I don't see this in the rules ” Need some context….why would this matter? If it is for a weapon effect, then no. Gigantic is its own measurement. A weapon or item would need to specify both Large and/or Gigantic.

  • Quote from BlackLancer: “Fear is bad in general, but especially the fear builds that DE can do. DE with the Effigy and banners that prevent re-rolls for fear tests are devastating for this army. These builds are highly RPS. I would argue that if the DE player invests in this, the matchup is basically unplayable for the VS player. (assuming the DE deploys the Effigy in a semi-intelligent location). ” So, wouldn’t that be an RPS issue of the DE book and not of VS design? From what I read about the…

  • Thanks. It was posted here: the-ninth-age.com/community/in…a-discussions/&pageNo=126 Quote from ValourUnbound: “Is this the thread we do all the chatting in? VS LAB Base Size Survey and Discussion ” It was post 2515, I believe, so a pretty well used forum. Is that on your notifications? Are they set? I ask, because sometimes I don’t get notified of posts when I know that I’m a participant. So, just making sure our bases are covered.

  • Thanks, @Warpfodder For those that offer up these examples, what do you want me to do with them? 1. Collect and take them internally 2. Collect and try to answer them 3. Reply to each via PM 4. Just leave in Open forum for others to comment on 5. Collect them and take the top 3 repeated situations to Task Team Just want to offer up a universally agreed upon course of action. The normal disclaimer applies here as well….these may result in change, change may already have happened, these may result…

  • Quote from da_griech: “... almost missed THAT important VS poll, so thought I'd reshare it (in case I'm not the only one) VS LAB Base Size Survey and Discussion ” How did you almost miss it? We have it as an Announcement on the News section and posted in the VS Discussion forum and outside of the forum. What else can we do to make sure there is more participation? We can’t text people or send them emails. Is this a situation in which someone just never checks the News or forums (for whatever rea…

  • Quote from arwaker: “Quote from rolan: “Well, you dsaid "low middle tier", what is somewhat funny ...But about all armies being in the same tier; that depends on how they get there, with big RPS issues, it might be that on average every army wins equally often, and still the game is neither fair nor fun. ” Do you have the feeling that VS are more RPS than other armies? If yes, what is the nature of this RPS? ” Yes. And help us to figure out which definition of RPS applies here to the VS book as …

  • No hostility meant on my part. I wrote it as if I was chatting face to face and I usually do that with a smile. I guess it reads hostile. If there’s a desire for clocks, then have that event and specify it as a draw for players. My point is that I come out to 2 or 3 a year, and it’s more to see the people rather than focus 100% on my final. I’d rather see games dropped to 4 or have a game Friday night and make longer times. Time pressures will dictate list building as well and there won’t be the…

  • The day we make chess clocks mandatory is the day I quit coming to events. If people want super elitist events with that type of anti-social atmosphere, then have those types of events separately and label them as such. Don’t come messing with “normal” events for the rest of us who come for other reasons.

  • Quote from mr-modmoto: “Quick question about callous: Does it trigger a panic check for enemy units, when you kill 25%? My guess is yes, because there is nothing against it (only exlicitly for your own units). But how does it work, when the unit flees? It just disengages from combat away from the shooting unit, like it would if it was not engaged? It certainly will not happen that often, because you only wound half the units, but it can create some very weird situations, right? ” Unless there is…

  • Quote from Shukran: “Ap+6 wound on 3+. How much does averagely s10 wound? ” Don’t split hairs on the topic. I can read the damn rule. The point is about AP and my opinion of what is the difference in AP 10 and AP +6.

  • JusOkay, Divine has to stay. What about AP? Which god ever wore mundane armour? What if the Doomblade just wounds automatically, but does not provide any AP bonus? Quote from arwaker: “ Many monsters have also bad armour. Would still be a formidable tool to kill monsters, but not so much against those heavily armourd characters. ” Just playing along to keep it going…not trying to be snarky at all. Appreciate the thought process and discussions. So to continue…many Supernals also have good armor …

  • Quote from arwaker: “What about House Prefects? Do you like their current design? Do you think their rules achieve what was hoped for by design? Do you think they have a place in reasonably competitive lists? Please do not comment about their point cost, because such discussion is not very helpful in alpha. Focus on the design. ” Now I’m curious as to what is the design that people think that this is supposed to be? You might want to understand the design first before you can judge whether or no…

  • That would be @Clanlord Skabrius

  • That is a BGT question. I honestly don’t have an answer to/for that.

  • @JoeFin Where can I find the final results and breakdowns so that I can forward to Data Analysis team?

skipschnit - - The Vermin Swarm (VS)

    Post

Just a reminder that the Tunnels are to be a tool in the toolbox and not a major playstyle. Super mobile and Ambushing playstyle is the wheelhouse of Beast Herds and to some extent Sylvan Elves. So we have it as a way of promoting special deployment/movement, but have to keep it in check so that it isn’t a dominant or dominating feature of the army. Thanks

  • I see that if the giants ever get a bridge built, they will enjoy knocking upon that gate! Haha. Brilliant work.

  • Quote from Warpfodder: “Quote from Gingersmali: “18 the hits are calculated in the target unit before randomising. ” Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. ” Per the rules, you base it all off of the original target. If that original target has more than the 18, then the vermin unit will suffer all 18. These hits are simultaneous, so it doesn’t matter what order you resolve them. If that 6x6 block was reduced by prior shooting (as it may be a target of several shooting units), then your “max” …
