  • When discussing what T9A 17th and 18th factions could be, or what EoS Supplement factions could be, bear in mind that we're talking about a very remote future, so anything can be only pure speculation. To my best knowledge, the only decision already made is that the 17th faction should be named Iron Crowns. Not decided to the day: - which cultures will be included in IC is not defined at this stage. Arcalea, sure, but beyond? - what could be the 18th faction is not defined. Not even which race i…

  • Quote from Giladis: “@WhammeWhamme it would be better we move this to a PM since it is off topic in relation to ToW. ” Or, instead of a PM which few people can read, better start a new thread: Speculation about future new T9A factions Please discuss there speculation about T9A factions. Please limit the discussion here to the topic: Warhammer, The Old World.

  • This converstaion originates from Return of the Warhammer Old World by GW?, in the Other Games forum. Since it is of general interest, I bring it here. Quote from BlackLobster: “If GW release models for Cathay and Kislev, would T9A add equivalent armies to the game or would they just fall under an Empire style? ” Quote from DanT: “(not commenting in staff role) Quote from BlackLobster: “If GW release models for Cathay and Kislev, would T9A add equivalent armies to the game or would they just fal…

Quote from Ghiznuk: “I was also thinking, @Calisson, isn't the Southern Taphrian tip in the way of Ninth Age equivalent of the « Roaring 40s » ? or something ” No, the latitude of T9A "South Taphria" would be more like the southern tip of Madagascar. The west coast likely to have a cold current pushing north, plenty of fish but dry, desert coast (like Namibia). The east coast likely to be wet with warm current pushing south, winds from southeast bringing warm rain pouring on the high altitude mo…

  • Quote from arnadil: “If authors are not working on their homebrew army anymore, it would be nice if they shared the files to edit the current versions. There are some obvious things that should be updated (like costs of command group models for instance). I guess others would take over if they had the permission and the files. I, for example, would update the Koghi, if I had the files. ” Please do! You're my guest. Quote from Calisson: “EDIT: latest version of the Army Book to be found here: The…

No, the idea is that the process has not been completed by the authors (me included). The first documents made had the title of the thread changed to incorporate "please playtest", to little effect. If some stats seem aberrant, they probably are, but the authors did not realize. In that case, please let them know in the appropriate thread. In case the authors are still active on the thread, they may take the time to update the document.

Homebrew = do it yourself. My participation in the development of the homebrews found in the first post of this thread was focused on the creation, from background to delivery of the first version. To go further, someone needs to playtest.

I did use Mercator maps during my whole career in the Navy. Very convenient for navigation on a paper map.

Could everyone calm down? Here, we discuss the opportunities to develop armies inspired from Africa. I should say, from the Africas, plural. Some of us, aware of the large differences between living in a savannah, a jungle or a plateau, are keen to get inspiration from the various pre-colonial empires which ruled large parts of the continents, and the associated civilizations. Some others are just happy to see exotic, non-European cultures represented, even if they tend to amalgamate sub-Saharan…

  • Quote from tiny: “@Calisson There seems to be a step missing in our onboard process. ” Actually not a process issue, just a manpower one. EDIT: actually Flea Market was in the list already .

  • I don't know whether you aim for more perfection, but Klepa looks a bit too small compared to Flebag and the backpack. Nonetheless, the scultpure looks more appealling than the drawing!

  • Quote from bas_2312: “Weird thing is that even GW themselves are doing something original with their armies. Introduce new Swamp Orcs, Sea Elves, Snake Elves, Air Dwarfs. In a way the armies of T9A are more Warhammer than the original armies at GW. ” Hey, we do have Sea Elves and Snake Elves, too! Also a Dwarven Air Force. And perhaps Kroots work for swamp Orcs? That's in Homebrew, though. Just to say that T9A has this flexibility.

  • Quote from grungimusic: “1. So, as I was saying, T9A is basically WHFB homebrew (but well done homebrew) and that's why most of us are here in my experience. 2. If you want to keep it going, heed my advice and don't go crazy with the LABs. ” 1. T9A was created to use the player's WH collections in a game providing similar gaming feeling as WH corrected from its flaws. That's indeed what attracted many former WH players, including close to 100% of the T9A creators if I am not mistaken. This remai…

  • Sorry for lack of clarity. FIrst paragraph: I see no resentment against GW in internal forums (to which you don't have access, but you do not have to believe me), so my experience is not that T9A creators are fed up with GW, only that they don't believe that GW could make a game with similar quality as T9A. What I suggest is you made the disctinction in open forums, between team members and non-team members. I would rate that the most vocal against GW are not the creators of the game. Second par…

  • A lot of creators fed up with GW? Perhaps it is time to revise your preconceived judgement? -=- I feel that T9A takes it a bit too far in the "everything should be equally playable" direction This could well be argued indeed. It just happens not to be the choice made here. If we compare to Blood Bowl, it is well known that playing Hobbits against anything is going to be an uphill battle. At least people know it beforehand. Sadly, it prevents average players who wish not to autolose to try this t…

  • Indeed, that's RT who would answer that question, not ExB. In any case, if there is a desired change, it can only be quite subtle, since LABs already released will not change and factions not having their LAB cannot change either until they become LAB. If a big change has any chance to be considered, that cannot be before we completed the 18 factions and start thinking about the 3rd edition. Can't happen before years. Meanwhile, I would suggest you to read back the RT directives provided to each…

  • The same goes for magic-users. No use to take a single apprentice, that's just wasted pts. Double or nothing.

  • Cross fingers, then. If TOW happens to be like T9A 1.1 with background taken from WH, many will be happy. WH fluff with T9A-quality rules, what's not to love? And nothing prevents GW to do that if they please. Remains to see if it pleases them. Of course, T9A is not only about quality rules, it is about careful balance as well. GW is about selling new models. Give them a year or two and you'll see power creep leading old models to become auto-lose. Someone will have to create a comp again. Also,…
