Quote from Echunia: “agreed, were team eyes all the way over here ” Quote from Henrypmiller: “Quote from JamesMcDonnell: “Only psychopaths paint the eyes on minis ” Its a super simple way of adding A LOT to your miniatures! Its very easy to do as well and not time consuming. ” While i like the idea of painted eyes. I'm not so keen on it myself.

Quote from StoffenDK: “@Sassy Al Do you know of any STL files of a “Clockwork” dragon? I’m looking for something Leonardo da Vinci esque and I cant find anything out there. ” check out Rocket Pig Games. They have a lot of clockwork, and I think there’s a dragon as well. Otherwise search My Mini Factory, I’m pretty sure there’s a few there you can buy. Edit: rocketpiggames.com/MM-Clockwork-Dragon-p160692709

Quote from Henrypmiller: “Looks great. You should use the red more on the models as the tertiary colour. You will be ready in no time for Nørdcon! ” i'm feeling the red also. it's friendly with orange and compliments green. Though I have used purple to accent the characters and the chosen bros.

Chosen Chariot tenq6vs.jpg The Chosen Chariot was a real treat to paint. It wasn't intimidating like a whole unit can be. And I got to do a few different things in a short window. This is another full on with Contrast Paints and I discovered that finishing the orange/yellow of Contrast Iyanden Yellow with a yellow ink really makes it pop and i decided to brush the yellow ink over the greens as well. it picked up the edge highlights really well and I would definitely use yellow ink on a green aga…

#4 Chosen GnC52K6.jpg These Chosen are where things really took off for me. I decided that metallics were no longer a must with my army and started getting excited about color. @Henrypmiller says the unit can be used for chosen or warriors with halberds or Great weapons. I guess as long as I'm not using them for both on the table at the same time I should not run into trouble. So I did up 25. Though the first 11 I did 8 weeks ago and the last 14 I did this week. When I did the first 11 I ignored…

#3 Barbarians I really like that you can add a Tribal Warspear to a giant and then he can join a barbarian unit. Which means I'm working on painting up a 40 stack of barbarians, and a giant with a tribal warspear (still don't have the giant, but I'm workin on getting it). So now I'm into the full swing of contrast paints and I really like how they work. They are a bit expensive but I don't feel like I use much and it does the job of several layers of paint and wash. So now I'm getting a bit more…

ZicfKuy.jpg#2 continued Heroes of the Dark Gods The final hero post for a bit. I've been real busy grinding out paint jobs, I try to get a bit done every night while watching Vikings on Netflix. I dunno how you folks get through grinding an army but series or movies I don't have to watch to follow are great for me. Usually means I've seen 'em before but streaming services are full of oldie but goodies. I've been making quite a bit of progress, faster than I plog surely, but I'm trying to get at …

Quote from Henrypmiller: “Did you get a lightbox or are you just using a White background? I Think you need to do a little more work highlighting and shading the skin tones to make it pop. ” It’s just white paper, the best result is putting the paper part on the table and part up the wall then there’s no distracting line in you pic.

yCv48mL.jpg @Henrypmiller love those birdies with the bespoke trees. They rank up so well. I suppose I'll be on the receiving end soon enough. Now back to the business, I wanted to keep working on my heroes post from earlier. The success I found with my first attempt at contrast painting went well i thought, and much faster than my work with the warriors so I thought, why not rally on? #2 continued Heroes of the Dark Gods I'm working on my brevity but I still want to share my process, so I'll tr…

So after a long month of painting I ended up with 28 of those warriors but it took a looong time. At that point the other guys were all like, "bro, do you even contrast paint?", which admittedly I did not. So I went and took a crack at it. Gotta say I like it. (Hope you guys don't mind I'm being a bit verbose with this.) Before I kick off on my second paint attempt I just want to bring up something else I learned doing the Warriors batch. And that is that I can't stand painting more than 7 minis…
