  • Since it's not an option you pay points for, it's not really clear how such data would be used. But still, can't hurt to collect it. I added the option.

  • After some waiting a decision was made to not wait for data for updating the prices. Better get the redesigns out sooner. This was alpha v4, whoch is already available. Old data on the previous version is no longer much useful. Data from alpha 4 will be useful for the annual balance patch.

Quote from Giladis: “Quote from berti: “WHY were they replaced with permanent spells instead of keeping the "remain in play" ability? ” This would be better directed in general game questions topic. If I recall correctly they were a lot of headache mechanics-wise for little gain gameplaywise within the context of the new magic system. @fjugin can you provide a more precise answer ” There were a lot of rules connected to remains in play spells, mostly regarding how they interacted with characters…

Does it a) do nothing b) do 18 S2 Ap1 hits c) do 1d6 S4 Ap1 hits d) do 18 S2 Ap1 hits + 1D6 S4 ap1 hits ” I'm not sure what the intention is TBH. @fjugin Are the Swarms allowed to fly over targets with Ravens (and do their own Sweeping)? ” The swarms' sweeping attack works if you move within 1" of the target unit, and the sweeping…

Quote from The Unmarked: “If they keep their sweeping attacks, I don't think the Rat Swarms need -1 to hit, since we already have Rot Within, Glamour and Wheel Turns. However, -1 Aim would be nice. ” Given that you can use the swarms as soft cover, in some sense they already have -1 aim

The exact formation on that map will be highly dependant on the size of the terrain pieces also. Using terrain that is as little as 1" off from the picture might result in pretty different looking maps

Most likely swarms will be caught and cause damage to the enemy, and leave enemy right in front of your units, ready for your counter charges or more shooting. It's not perfect, but for a free unit, potentially quite useful. Not something super easy to use, requires a bit o thought and precise movement. Give it a try guys. Maybe rules team (which consist of top players) knows something about how to abuse the movement and charge rules.

Quote from Kunta: “the chaff potential is ridicolous, ” Considering it is worth 0VP, and you can double up on the spell, anything else (i.e. normal chaffing potential of light troop unit with 12" move) would be incredibly frustrating for opponents to play against. I don't think that would be good for the game overall.

Quote from Bulls Eye: “So you damage your own unit? ” No, more than 12" from your own unit. So that the flee move can not reach your own unit.

Quote from Morrigan: “Thread necromancy, whoo! But are the measurements on B4 (the much discussed farm) correct? I'm using it for the first time, and it seems the pretty the farm area's picture doesn't match the measurements given (I do have a slightly smaller table than the normal one, 71' x 47' but I think I took that into consideration). I could have been just a potato, but I had to add 2-4 inches to multiple measures to get my table to align with the picture. ” Could you specify which pieces…

It's quite flawed to view this as a pure damage spell imo. It can do so much more. - Continuous damage over many turns - Provide soft cover - Force march tests - Block movement - Limited chaffing* - Kill gnasher wrecking teams - And do on *Rules team have some concerns on the chaffing potential of this spell (place swarm in front of enemy and >12" from your unit, so that it will still be in the way after the flee move). If/when you do test the spell, please test this and let us know if it's actu…

Quote from Herminard: “@fjugin Is there an official statement that the A pack is better suited for competetive play and the B pack is better suited for narrative battles? ” A-maps are easier logistically for a tournament organizer (since less terrain and perfect overlap with the terrain pack). But for the actual games, no. Each tournament organizer should make their own assessment on this.

Map B5, ruins in the middle, seem to have the wrong distance from the short table edge. If using the measurements (24'') found in the pack it overlaps with a fence. 28'' seems to be the correct distance. ” Thanks for getting these to my attention. The general idea is: - If you are using 2D terrain from the terrain pack, use A-maps. They are made with that terrain distribution in mind. You can create 3 maps with one pack, 5 maps with 2 packs, or 8 maps with 3 packs. - If you are not using 2D terrain, or have a lot more terrain that the number of tables you are using, B-maps can be considered. In general, A-maps are probably better suited for the most competitive games/players. B-maps are leaning a bit more towards the immersion side of the…

Quote from joss: “Is it planned for each map to finally have an unique deployment after beta ? It's soooo much nicer for game preparation. Other than that, I feel that it's a good set of map, looks original and fun. ” No, that is not the plan. Intentionally random deployments. To maximize variation. That was the given premise when maps were created.
