Quote from Fleshbeast: “Why "Driver"? I don't get the background? Though it was a gauss canon/rifle with a play on words to Mauss? ” Triple pun. "Mass driver" is another term for railgun.

Citizens, it has come to our attention that one of our units is often called by the wrong name. Various plebs mistakenly reger to the noble Mauss driver as a Mauss rifle. To do so is unrepublican, as it is neither rifled nor as good a pun.

Pretty sure the Jezail is a blackpowder weapon and the Mauss Artillery an electromagnetic accelerator, so they aren't really related.

We generally ruled that allies don't profit from each other's effects. Things get too weird otherwise. We mostly deploy 2v2 in quadrants, too, not mixed lines.

We've played 3-6 players for twenty years now... I don't remember it ever being especially complicated. For the rules, everyone just counts as everyone else's enemy. If you need something done by "your opponent", we usually just go by "the one to your right" or similar.

Well, obviously. Sunna was a patsy for good Republican rats who wanted to remove the last vestige of regressive kingship from their society, so they set her up to fight against a constructed symbol.

  • I mean, fitting. The sigmarites dislike the Myrmidians, they feel Sigmar should be the only god incarnate as a man. Also, Myrmidia is all foreign, not like good Imperial gods like Mors or Ulric.

  • Quote from Ghiznuk: “Quote from bluntpencil2001: “Bretonnia is both France and Britain. Unless King Arthur and Welsh longbows are now French. ” 100 % of Equitan names are just French, from North to South, without any regional difference. And for sure, king Arthur, Merlin and Morgane come from Brittany, never heard of Brocéliande Forest ? Quote from Eldan: “Her capitol used to be Tylos, the setting's equivalent to Rome, before the city fell and became Skavenblight. ” Hum… Sounds like a known stor…

  • Not local Gods, most of the Old World Humans follow the same gods as the Empire. But Myrmidia, for example, has her temple there. Her capitol used to be Tylos, the setting's equivalent to Rome, before the city fell and became Skavenblight. After her City fell, Myrmidia incarnated as a mortal wonan and conquered Estalia, Tilea and Myrmidens (where now the border princes are), but she failed to retake Skavenblight and was killed by treachery soon after. Her Empire disintegrated. Myrmidia still has…

  • It kind of does. Tilea has a few powerful states owned by temples.

  • I don't think we have any faction that is based on one single thing. They usually have a few obvious references and a general style, but there's always a few small references to other time periods and cultures.

  • Quote from dan: “They weren’t based on anything. They weren’t explicitly anything or ruled by anyone. They were just a generic no-mans land. From the article: Quote from Warhammer Article: “This area is fascinating, but it’s also a challenge when it comes to expanding the setting. It was originally created to provide a ‘sandbox’ in which players could set their own campaigns and stories, so we didn’t want to over-describe the area. Instead, we gave hobbyists enough information to run with it and…

  • Dwarves and especially orcs, too, traditionally.

  • IIRC, the border princes are the location of Myrmidens and the Northernmost Nehekaran colonies. And it borders the Badlands and therefore former Strygos, which reached all the way to the Gulf, so there should be some variety.

The purpose of the core rules, as far as I'm concerned, is mostly shared vocabulary to teach you how to read your army's rules.
