Core cav is great though imho; others pay their elite points for that

  • That solution would be way too uncomplicated though, and thus not fit the book and concept

Eieiei... poor Hobgoblins then, they're even fatter I'd play a lot of monsters and single models with this army. Maybe I make a list and try out some things, if I like it I might build my Hobgoblins into a Hybrid-army... basically makhar goblin warriors I like the concept a lot of shooty light cav transporting a tough cowboy, helping out with his high leadership and adding a potential threat.

Quote from Borneo: “Quote from Marcos24: “Lol the purpose of LABs is to redo the “too close to GW” version of the other books from scratch so they fit in T9A’s setting. Where’s all the supplements are written from scratch for that purpose already so no need to redo them ” Close to GW or not, makhar in its current version is unplayable imo.So what's more important to further distinguish books from GW or make terrible books playable? We already know where the priorities are ” Why are Makhar unplay…

Quote from Filthor: “(Copy pasted from the ID thread) How do you guys feel about the new hobgoblins from Daybreak? The are probably more suited for RPGs, but I do really like some of these. If you feel that they would be interesting in T9A I would probably move them up the (long) list of stuff to add to the store ” To be honest, I would not consider them as they look way too "mighty" for goblins. They'd rather fit a Warriors of Chaos army imho.

But of course I know the kind of lists you played. However think its often meta biased. And I would also not make 8th edition guideline "whoever buys more,…

  • Quote from skipschnit: “So only 1 game has been played in 2 weeks with the Alpha 4 book? Wow. Can’t really make changes based on conjecture and theory. Vermin Swarm Alpha #4 Game Results Needed If it’s not posted here and in the manner requested, then I’m afraid we may miss the opportunity to take certain things seriously. ” Maybe there's more people like me around that don't enjoy games as much when proxying an army? And I guess almost every VS player would need to proxy quite a lot. But that k…

  • Quote from SkavenInAZ: “Quote from Traumdieb: “True but the common VS armies are a decent bit bigger armies than Skaven in most cases where. ” Standard 8th Skaven pushed 210 models or so. If you played in 8th, you likely have what you need for this book with some small adjustments, without a collection the size of @hasker ” Don't know how it was over in the US, but standard european Skaven were 3x40 slaves and a smaller unit clanrats to push a bell

  • Has actually someone tried to glue GW's "squig hoppers" onto wolf- or warg models? Does it work? Does it look ok-ish? Would be interested in some thoughts and advice to try that out.

Is there actually any update to blunderbusses incoming? Or is the common sense that its a fine designt? Just asking neutrally, out of interest

  • @rolan so much true; That's science. And should be approached by someone who knows how to do things like that. But then again, it's a lot of work, and people with those skills rather tend to utilize them in other (more important) real-life areas, write papers about it and gaign money and fame for it... downside of modern times' tenure track system in the scientific world. @20phoenix "humans are fascinating" sounds like an outsider's view. That's what could actually be useful here. Do you happen …

  • Quote from arwaker: “I think that even if we would make a new poll with just the long and the square base, majority for square would be even more. People who like this broad base are certainly more unhappy with the long one than with the square one. The square base allows all models, the other two just allow a part of the models to be used. Model invalidation is more severe than rebasing. And square base is imho the most beautiful solution. ” Jup, for all players getting started now with VS that…

  • Quote from CasimirtheSwede: “I mean, surely you just add a strip of plastic to each sice of the base? No need to rip it off. ” I mean, surely that's the best option for someone who puts the hobby focus on pure gaming. I put the hobby focus on models as well. Tens of thousands of hours on designing, building and painting.I understand most people don't do that, and I still like playing with them, even though their armies sometimes look shitty. But most people (playing-focused) seem not to have any…

  • So true; in fact I dont care whether 75x50 or 50x75 at all. But I do care ripping my demon off his vitrine-level designed and painted base. Thats why I hate the new book primarely. It devaluates my army. Or at least demands tons of additional time and work, which I dont have any more as grown adult, with a demanding job and family.

  • Nice stuff. Also really like the bases!

  • This is all so frustrating. What happened to my beloved rats...
