I'll also remind the community that the ID design team worked hard. RT (rule experts and responsible for keeping power creep in check) is happy with their work. ACS stakeholders, from all armies, are happy. I'm happy. The project in general is happy and from preliminary impressions, most of the players from community too seems happy. You are allowed to disagree. You're allowed to dislike the update and to say it. No problem, and I'm honestly sorry that you're dissatisfied. But saying it over and…

Quote from Giladis: “Laws of transfer of energy still exist in T9A so I doubt the experience would be pleasant. ” Leidenfrost effect can help them not loosing heat to quick if they're hot enough. In which case a large barrier of steam would be a pretty powerfull capacity. Quote from Dim: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “The week after we hand it off to Translation. ” Excellent! Approximately how many agonizing weeks do we still have to wait?Or will you relieve our pain with well chosen spoilers? Thank…

I'm still wondering what data the algoritm would rely on. Pricing of other LABs and slim books ? That can't really work. Too little data, and how would the algorithm learn how to price a unique rule, or most rule combination, or synergies between units, that are not present in other books? Stats are on thing, but how do you plan to feed unique rules to the algorithm for example ? I see it more working for iterative pricing, using tournament data, when pricing can rely mostly on usage stats (and …

  • It makes much sense that it is safe. The process has already existed for quite some time and there are a lot of reasons to believe that balance is as good as it has ever been. I believe that most armies are within 5% of an ideal 50% win rate. And balance changes on the scale of 5 to 10% may have more impact than you realise. Do you play online video games? From my experience, developpers of competitive games make balance changes of similar magnitude. The process is not especially safe because of…

  • Prety much what I said, yes, except Data analysis doesn't exist anymore and is now Tournament Analysis. I want to stress that taking the number of entries in a category is not a meaningfull way to set a goal of internal balance, even though doing so can't give results that are way too far of an ideal goal. The SE core is a perfect example. There are 4 units, from which you deduce that each should have 25% share. But suppose that in the next update, for clarity (Layout, RCT), Heath Riders and Hea…

  • I'm not sure I see your points either. I've not spoken about how large or small balance changes should be, only about targeted play share. Of course a 5% change won't drastically change lists, but it will shift what is most optimal to play. Never pretended the opposite Quote from arwaker: “If army XYZ has 4 core units availible, the DA (data analysis team) goal is to bring them all to 25%. ” This is doubly (tiply, even) wrong. Tournament (not data) analysis team has no such goal. It's goal is to…

  • Well you said 5-10% so even with that interpretation it's 55/60% And this is very personal of course, but I wouldn't bat an eye if a quarter of SE lists in tournaments had no sylvan Archers at all.

  • Sylvan Archers are the most typical and iconic unit in the book, and the main core unit. I don't think having them played in 50% of lists is a bad thing, and I may even say that anything under that would seems to me like they're underused.

  • Reqlly really nice! The paint is super clean.

  • Quote from Little Joe: “Quote from Serwyn: “Looks quite nice. I might go for some pathfinders. Did someone already order from them and could say about the resin and print quality? ” It's a kickstarter to find out. I do think there are already licenced print shops around. So some will be available already. The way I see it, this is future proofing that availability. ” I'm sorry, I really don't unserstand your message ^^' From what I understand these are not their first models, they are "3D Printi…

  • @Tyranno There is the Forge World Thranduil: 01-01.jpg Resin as well though.

  • It seems natural that having only so a few scoring units while scoring is necessary means these units are heavily played. It also seems that these units are played more than what player would want. Hence there are two possible solutions : Tune the army around playing less scorers (possibly nerfing these scoring units, in favour of other units) or increasing the diversity of the scorer option (not on the table for this update, removing some light troops). Given that the second possibility is not …

Quote from Bogi: “Quote from Falco: “Talking about our wood friends: Are TB and treeman a little bit expensive for that atributes? Compared with another monsters or monstruos infantery... Appart from everyone with pyro banners or able to take alchemy... TB are 20 points more expensive than one year ago ” I guess that's the way things go, units which are commonly used get point increases regardless of external balance. TB have great stats for their cost, probably the best in the game but are very…

I mostly agree with DanT. The army would be probably more efficient, easier to balance and more satisfying with a bit less mobility on archers. I don't agree with QTF though. Imho it plays more into shooting efficiency than into avoidance. SA are un comparable to Sentinels in term of easyness to charge. On the other hand, among the 5 shooting units of the book (3 infantry and 2 cavalry), 4 of them have light troops. And that is the main avoidance offender. Being able to relocate freely within ma…
