ehehe, yea this tournament is being quite useful for balance reasons. BH are quite tough to play due for the low Str / low AP on their main block of wildhorns, but that's kind of countered by being extremely annoying against alchemists (or generally high-AP factions). i definitely like the 10->15 ghouls change, as you can see in the short batrep against ID. and now you can have a look at the new batrep between DH and HE, which in my view lends more credit to the idea of retouching flamewardens. …

put that into a SPOILER, you scoundrel! im still releasing 10' batreps from the elimination phase in the Blogs section! ( the-ninth-age.com/community/blog/ ) ok, killjoy mode off : D i loved the vid, full of very useful insight, especially for new players. the game itself was a blast. stuff like the first magic phase, or that "whole army engaged!" melee phase... man!

  • Quote from Remy77077: “ ...when a unit is going to do multiple wheels in a single move, especially with fast units, I find it very very difficult to visualise ahead of time where they can legally get to whilst wheeling properly (and not doing "the slide" as mentioned!), and so I definitely really want to do 'backsies' quite often in these kinds of situations... ” i think i can relate to this, and it's great that you mention it, since it illustrates the problem from a different perspective: when …

  • Quote from skipschnit: “ Also, the biggest culprit I find that slows down the game is all of the movement shenanigans that has been described. Moving, marking, resetting, etc is very frustrating. Make a damn decision and then move the units. You get to pre-measure everything anyway so why do you have to move the whole army and then do it over? [...] These things slow the game down tremendously…yet they are nothing that is in the control of the game designers/project, nor are they a bi-product of…

Quote from PTG - Hyper-G: “@piteglio - I have just added my comment on YouTube, and I believe its made in a constructive way, rather than just my general distaste for Highborn Elves! ” oh, i thought it was a specific distaste for the armies played by LuckySixes : D point taken, tho. maybe the two games that L6 has to play in the Essence Metatriangular will be the last using this unitsize? we'll find out soon. in the meantime, there's been a few concerns about SA as well, for being on the strongi…

splendid, it works now, even retroactively: cG0QYo6.png i will post a new batrep in a couple days, i will let you know if that doesnt work out, but it seems it's all fixed now. thanks a lot for your help, f

  • very much agree with Peacemaker's post above last week we played a game of T9A Essence, and turns lasted in average 5 minutes each. there was no time to get bored at the opponent doing their thing. you were just following, reacting every now and then (e.g. a charge reaction, a dispel roll, some attack allocations), and in the rest of the time you'd be anticipating what comes next. many people are being positively surprised by smaller, shorter and faster games. so... there's hope : D

  • i like the idea of an "offenders-based" iterative simplification (or at least clarification) process, like the ones mentioned by Shukran and Necrosa. and i know that most of the discussion revolves around high-skill players for high-complexity games with T9A Fantasy Battles in a competitive setting, but i hope it's still ok to give a bit of info from our all-skill players having low-complication games with T9A Essence of War in a friendly environment: i've played a full game, in 40 minutes, with…

speaking of youtube material, dont know if you've seen one of the latest EW games published on the Proxy Table Gaming channel (linked in the spoiler below for your convenience). @PTG-Lucky-Sixes plays HE against BH led by @PTG - Hyper-G, and at the end of the match (so around 1h15') we discuss a couple possible powerlevel tweaks for the elves. i wont go into the details here on the forum, in case someone wants to watch the game, before knowing what exactly is being discussed. but do you agree wi…

thank you for your answers. i think i can see the problem a bit better now: the article is indeed published, by @Grimbold Blackhammer, as you can see from the right frame of the Forum Dashboard page: LSKFL5Y.png however, when i look at the blog section in the left (main) frame of the Dashboard page, between the newest posts and the rotating gallery images, my article is not displayed? SLZApjq.png is there a (know) reason for this behaviour? can we fix it and have my articles shown there as well?…

  • Quote from Grouchy Badger: “Is the battle over yet, blyat. ” (Hidden Content) (Hidden Content) Quote from RHworldbuilding: “SUNNA’S FAITH - Commanded by @Ivar K PREGAME There was some doom and gloom in the preliminary planning, as it seemed that the Sylvan Patrol could simply play the avoidance game and out-maneuver our infantry-heavy patrol. But that didn’t stop the strategic minds on Team Sunna’s Faith from chatting and diagraming out all 4 turns in multiple variations before deployment even h…

ah! thanks for the clarification. yes, in FB that's due to Lightning Reflexes. which also gives +1 to Hit to non-Agi-0 units. we don't have Lightning Reflexes in the Patrols, because they use the Basic rules of Essence. however, in the Advanced rules you do see that Lightning Reflexes is listed. this means that the DE Armylist (the Advanced one, not the Basic patrol) might end up having Lightning Reflexes on many units, and natural Agi on the Knights. we try to avoid units being different betwee…
