  • Quote from micdicdoc: “Quote from Nemeroth: “I’m very cynical that WtOW will be what everyone seems to think it will. ” I think the allure of "i KnOw WhAt tHaT Is!?" is an incredibly strong one - look to things like the revamping of Star Wars and other crappy nerdy things and how people just gush over them. The game doesn't need to be great rules-wise for people to invest in it and for it to be a hit. ” Don’t get me wrong I want new models!

  • Quote from Giladis: “Quote from Little Joe: “that's still the old scale, right? ” Not any more. It has been quite a talk this summer-autumn how HH models have become upscaled in the recent releases. ” GW once made the promise that “all your old models will be usable in AoS”……that lasted about 12 months and the legacy stuff was severely UP. If I was a business with a new game of an old setting to sell, I sure as hell wouldn’t be making it easy for punters to simply use their models they paid for …

Can we just clarify that being peaceful doesn’t mean you’re a pacifist. Lamassus are scholars and would much rather be reading books and studying magic than fighting. But they will go to war and stomp fools if obliged to.

You’re equating having consequences for being toxic in a wargames forum to actual government repression? I don’t believe you’re serious! Most people give valuable feedback and criticism and discuss all the things you’ve mentioned without breaking the rules. I don’t know why you keep bringing up msu-gate, it’s nothing to do with any of this. This is in no way a “freedom of speech” issue.

Ok this is getting beyond my remit as HR so I’m out. We have explained, in very accessible language how users get themselves banned. This isn’t a courtroom it’s a privately run forum for toy soldiers, we have our own terms of use and breaking them, repeatedly, means consequences. Plenty of users manage to give the project constructive and thoughtful criticism without doing so in a toxic manner.

  • What about protean magic along the lines of the Master of Canreigh Tower? You can tailor the spells to fit DH BG.

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Before that's even happened? No, there really isn't a direction "planned". Individuals might have opinions, but policies get released when they're locked in. ” ....the same individuals who make the guidelines. I highly doubt they've been sitting around NOT brainstorming about the direction they want to take the game in. -------- But ok ok ok. I guess Swordmasters in core will never happen since you guys keep frightfully repeating that nothing is …

Further to what Giladis said: Staff members need to re-read house rules because attacking and arguing with each other in public is a breach. What is also a breach is undermining and attacking the project by perpetuating misinformation about processes, especially LABs. If you have an issue take it up with management in the staff internals. This is a friendly warning.

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “Maybe you weren't considering other playstyles with the old book? ” DH, ID, EOS and shooty OnG were regularly used by my small group of gaming buddies. I needed to dance around a bit. My point is that in my personal feeling I never really rated the altar. I am a shite player though lol.

  • While we’re at it why not add counterplay to every special rule?

  • Quote from Kreln: “BTW will we see the complete LAB this year or week by week we will be fed with one spoiler? ” Would you rather have no spoilers?

  • I think the Orison mechanic is very flavourful and interesting. Power level gets looked at in PT and the whole point of public alpha is to help iterate things like power levels. Grand job LAB TT.

  • Quote from setrius: “Quote from Nemeroth: “No shade but I’m not getting drawn into an argument about perceptions, it’s pointless anyway as we’re so near an update. Just hang on for Beta 1, you will see how many changes have used community feedback. ” Yes, you right. It's a perception based on a previous experience as player. ” Sure, same for me. Altar never suited my play style with DE who I loved to throw around the table rather than crawl forward worrying about a bubble, life’s too short!

  • No shade but I’m not getting drawn into an argument about perceptions, it’s pointless anyway as we’re so near an update. Just hang on for Beta 1, you will see how many changes have used community feedback.

Quote from Peacemaker: “LAB came out shortly before points update where all the command values changed. Old slim was not updated. Didn't have much choice. And of course people where wanting to try out new OP builds(real or theory). Thats always a big factor. ” It would be the simplest thing in the world for TOs to allow slim books to pick command options at 10pts each. It’s up to them whether they even use the slims though and I’ve not heard of that happening. I think that’s overall a good thing…
