  • If no alpha then at at least you could give us some combined arms lists so we can engage in even more rampant and baseless speculation

  • I really like the Orison system, and I'm looking forward to see how I can incorporate it into my lists and builds. However, I feel that the one phase limitation of the +1 to hit option (which I imagine will be the most used/impactful) could be argued to be irrelevant or even in bad faith given its context in KoE-lists. Combining the large number of high quality attacks some of our units looks to be able to throw out with our charge dependency where the first phase of combat will (almost) always …

  • Quote from Klexe: “Quote from Just Wes: “You still have 2 Off5, Str6 AP3 attacks per guy. ” mmmmmmhhhhh mmmmhh 1 Hammer knight charging will always deal more dmg then 1 grail knight charging. IF you want it. Doesnt matter the enemy^^ ” Despite lacking both magical attacks and divine attacks? A desire to know more intensifies... Will the footknights come in similar varied fashion as the mounted ones or will they be less varied in nature?

  • I like it, though I feel like the limit on them might be unfairly biased towards the higher cost/impact knights, leaving the core knights possibly feeling somewhat lacking. Its gonna be nice with two, possibly three magical banners in one unit, even though the Knight Bannerette is going to be quite exposed in comparison to the normal standard bearers and a lot of pts into a 2 wound model

  • Quote from Davian: “You mean like a rule saying ”if knights and peasants fights in the same combat, no CR is generated by the opponent for wounds inflicted on peasants” ? or more like ”Knights never suffer negative modifiers to their leadership because of dead peasants” some kind of upgraded insignificant rule? ” At the time of writing it I was imagining something like the first example. It would be an insane rule, and it would most likely never happen. But I feel we need some way use Levy as le…

  • I believe the problem with peasant levy right now is that they have one role right now which they can reasonably do on the tabletop, a sacrificial tarpit. And to even do this job they need to have support from a character or a units of KotoR or better knight unit. Even then I'd argue that peasant crusaders (with reliquary support) are better at this for a similar price. The ideal scenario that many imagine with peasant levy, working together with a unit of knights to provide static cr and to hel…

  • So, the way I think about the rubber lance syndrome is that it's not necessarily that KoE has bad offensive output, it's that is really concentrated on the the turn you charge. Sure, other armies have units which can whiff on the charge, but one of our core themes is charging knights, and lets face it, that's why most of us got into this army in the first place. And yes, while we do have tools to mitigate a round of bad luck, they are concentrated in the magic phase which forces us to commit to …
