  • Quote from Craig1020: “As an added example to where I stated there was too much "clutter". I followed an example where it said if you want to join the project to select user groups and apply etc. Theres 79 different teams to choose from.. no project needs 79, has it been considered some of these are not neccisary? ” Quote from Just_Flo: “Yes, it has been considered and quite a lot of them have been dissolved or merged. The 79 teams include all teams which ever existed. For example once there was…

  • Quote from echoCTRL: “Quote from Davian: “It would also be cool if people's tags would only be visible in relevant forums. KOE LAB tags are only visibile in KoE forum etc. ” That would I think be the ideal compromise. ” Not really a possibility unfortunately. We can show or not show the signatures on the mobile version, and even that was honestly not granted. Now we can limit the size of the signature, but please tell us if the lose of readability is worth the gain of informations.

  • Quote from Calisson: “You know what? Your desire has been anticipated. The official replacement of the former infamous spaghetti dish is the picture top of this page. ” Wow, looks nice Quote from Giladis: “All the staff are supposed to display all their roles in their signatures. My signature includes all my current roles in the Project so everything is visible at a glance. ” True! And if you want to be absolutely perfect you can even make the color of the badge correctly match each title I agre…

  • Thanks for pinging! It's actually in our short term task list (which is paradoxically long :p ) to update those The team descriptions and requirements are in general too strong and too formal, when there are in fact few teams who really require hard skills. Sorry about the confusion that can cause. For anyone interested, if you're unsure wether you are fit or not for a team, please send me or someone else in HR a quick PM and we'll figure it out!

Thanks to @rzmoz, there is now a blank unit entry sheet available here! It is the template for typical units in army book, but withoutany value, so it is easily available for homebrew purposes or imagining new units

  • Expediency of LABs

    Serwyn - - General Discussion

    Post

I want to reassert that we have 5 ongoing LABs in development. This is actually a lot guys. You don't realize how many people are working, how much different teams are needed, how many total hours are necessary to get a high quality product. There are always bottleneck. Some of them in teams that are chronically understaffed because we don't have enough applicants or people with the good sets of skills are so hard to find, some in unexpected teams just because life is life and people come and le…

Quote from grubazz: “Quote from DanT: “@grubazz Ok, glad you like the direction of the LABs I hope this means you will like the EOS LAB too when it is done Aside: To be clear, the points changes aren't in lieu of doing something more, they are instead of doing nothing while the non-LAB books wait their turn for the LAB treatment. We simply don't have the resources to work on more than ~4 LABs at once. We are trying to get them all done as fast as we can (without compromising on our goals for the…

  • LAB team application process

So for everyone who is willing to help (And please remember that helping the books getting done is not only done by the lab team, but also by Layout, Translation, ACS, Background, Art, etc...) You can find all application links on our Join Us page. Thanks!

  • As Dan said you can help filling the data in the respective threads of each army. If you want to get involved more actively, you may be interested by joining the ACS team, who is very active in collecting data (thanks guys!) or the tournament Analysis team. You can find both on our join us page!

I'll also remind the community that the ID design team worked hard. RT (rule experts and responsible for keeping power creep in check) is happy with their work. ACS stakeholders, from all armies, are happy. I'm happy. The project in general is happy and from preliminary impressions, most of the players from community too seems happy. You are allowed to disagree. You're allowed to dislike the update and to say it. No problem, and I'm honestly sorry that you're dissatisfied. But saying it over and…

In which case a large barrier of steam would be a pretty powerfull capacity. Quote from Dim: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “The week after we hand it off to Translation. ” Excellent! I'm still wondering what data the algoritm would rely on. Pricing of other LABs and slim books ? That can't really work. Too little data, and how would the algorithm learn how to price a unique rule, or most rule combination, or synergies between units, that are not present in other books? Stats are on thing, but how do you plan to feed unique rules to the algorithm for example ? I see it more working for iterative pricing, using tournament data, when pricing can rely mostly on usage stats (and …

  • It makes much sense that it is safe. The process has already existed for quite some time and there are a lot of reasons to believe that balance is as good as it has ever been. I believe that most armies are within 5% of an ideal 50% win rate. And balance changes on the scale of 5 to 10% may have more impact than you realise. Do you play online video games? From my experience, developpers of competitive games make balance changes of similar magnitude. The process is not especially safe because of…

  • Prety much what I said, yes, except Data analysis doesn't exist anymore and is now Tournament Analysis. I want to stress that taking the number of entries in a category is not a meaningfull way to set a goal of internal balance, even though doing so can't give results that are way too far of an ideal goal. The SE core is a perfect example. There are 4 units, from which you deduce that each should have 25% share. But suppose that in the next update, for clarity (Layout, RCT), Heath Riders and Hea…

  • I'm not sure I see your points either. I've not spoken about how large or small balance changes should be, only about targeted play share. Of course a 5% change won't drastically change lists, but it will shift what is most optimal to play. Never pretended the opposite Quote from arwaker: “If army XYZ has 4 core units availible, the DA (data analysis team) goal is to bring them all to 25%. ” This is doubly (tiply, even) wrong. Tournament (not data) analysis team has no such goal. It's goal is to…

  • Well you said 5-10% so even with that interpretation it's 55/60% And this is very personal of course, but I wouldn't bat an eye if a quarter of SE lists in tournaments had no sylvan Archers at all.
