Quote from SlaveToThePyre: “Quote from TheChange: “With March 6" the Bastion would be a completely dead option not even worth the 200 points you mentioned. As it currently stands the Bastion is overcosted and has a huge weakness in Defensive 1. ” I completely disagree.I play only flintlocks and not BBs because I only have flitnlock-looking models. Not a reason to change rules. And currently I have 0 reasons to deploy a Bastion. Flintlocks shoot in 3 ranks so no reason to use it. If it costed 200 …

Quote from SlaveToThePyre: “I don't see the problem with BBs having to choose between a wide formation for maximum ranged damage and a deep formation for combat stamina. I guess this is a game-wide issue affecting many "hybrid" units. 7x4 Blunderbusses can deal a lot of damage AND stand combat due to Infernal Brand, high armour, HW&S. We also have a funny tool to be granted both higher damage output and ranks. That's the bastion. So I would suggest to focus on the issues of that entry. Now, the …

Quote from WhammeWhamme: “If a decision were made because the TT decided it to be so, I would be phrasing it as "we decided it should be like so". For example, we decided to make the Kadim Chariot be a unit; that was our choice, no one else's, and in retrospect, it was perhaps a bad decision to add new units to the book. ” I am very happy that the Kadim Chariot has been added to the book. Approximately one year ago before the point update I always used to play 1-2 chariots, but eventually had to…

I am probably one of the few people that actually like the current blunderbusses, but I think that the team missed a great opportunity during the last simplification patch. I was really expecting the special rules to be removed and just have: "march and shoot, always hit on 5+". Anyways when I think of a Blunderbuss I imagine a short ranged weapon that releases a bucket of shots and something always hits the target, not something that hits on a 5+.

1) An ID Character riding a Bull of Shamut and wielding Flame of the East must choose between the Impact hits and the grinding attacks granted by the magical weapon since they are the same model or can do both as they are two different model parts? 2) Nudging is done at initiative step, correct? So for example if a Gigantic model is in the flank of a unit and after resolving its attacks it isn't in base contact anymore he will be nudged in position (sliding sideways) at the next initiative step …

Flintlock Poll
PostThe easiest fix would have been always hit on 5+. It’s a little buff and would have deleted a ton of rules that the weapon has. I was actually expecting it from this patch.

Wow, terrible patch from my point of view. Was expecting/hoping something more. Will give the Walking Volcano a try and possibly the gunnery team with flamethrower as well, but most likely my list will stay exactly the same (will just add a shield to the Prophet). It will be back to 4500 gaining a shield and a nerf on the Kadim Titan.

Quote from Fantasius: “Hey guys, i have 3 rule questions regarding Caiman mentors: 1. if i play them in a saurus warrior unit which is equipped with spears. Can i position them in the 4th row? Idea is that the spears give the warriors fight in extra rank, and the caymans add their fight in extra rank based on the mentor rule. what is your opinion? or do they need to stand in the 3rd as maximum? Attack in extra rank is separate therefore the Caimans need to be in 3rd rank to attack. 4th if in lin…

Quote from Kriegschmidt: “ If the Volcano is going up to 6 Attacks and staying at Adv/March 7", I'm curious to see whether anyone will ever take the Naphtha or Mortar versions. (I'll try the Mortar version but mainly for fluff/model reasons.) ” If the price is acceptable I plan to try the Volcano with Naphtha as soon as the update comes out.

Quote from berti: “with 3 grinds, a 3+ safe and parry I doubt the replaced attacks in the unit are better. And the defence is as good as infantry can become. So what is the problem with the weapon team in the unit? ” Shooting? High cost for damage output No March and Shoot Limited Range Has to shoot to the same target of the unit I may see a use of the Flamethrower Gunnery Team inside a unit of Spears or Immortals. Possibly the other Gunnery Teams (Mortar and Rocket) may go inside the Flintlocks…

Seems that the problem with adding 3 Caiman Mentors to the core block has been resolved, but I can't choose a weapon for them.

Quote from Marcema: “Quote from Dain_II: “The new SunCatcher is pretty cool but currently it's not possible to put in a unit of skinks where it would be pretty great, is that correct? ” Correct. The design is powerful, but therefore we wanted to introduce some kind of a tradeoff which in this case is combo charging. ” Must have skipped a part. Where does it state it can't be put on a Great Protector?

Quote from SlaveToThePyre: “Quote from TheChange: “Point is that if you take one unit of Flintlocks is close to useless, but if you start spamming them the firepower starts to add and they become interesting. ” Ah so I was so damn smart when I bought and meticulously convert 20 Citadels with Spear and 20 with Flintlocks, good job to me. ” Buy 10 more Flintlocks!
