  • I somewhat agree that the wyvern is problematic, or at least it sits in an awkward position. Just looking at mounts it is very comparable to the cave gnasher. A bit faster and venom fangs are in its favor. 5 res vs +1 armor, is somewhat of a wash for me but the 1hp is certainly in its favor. Offensive values are pretty much equal. Towering presence vs Hard Target, TP is only really useful for general (which itself put an even bigger target on the wyvern) so not much of a win here. Cave gnasher c…

  • I'd rather have something right between your suggestions. Keep the three races but limit options according to race. For example, forest goblins come pre-equiped with spears but have the option to swap for hw should you want. As most seem to play each race in a certain setup I think it reasonable to simply make that setup the standard. This would make balancing and costing easier as you have less options to consider yet keep the viable ones. It would also be easier on us players and give some act…

  • It is a good support unit, certainly. but not very cost effective per sey unfortunately. For roughly the same price you can get 2 cave gnasher heroes with lances. For me, cave gnashers are roughly equal to a wyvern but way cheaper which means a lot more utility customization

  • Just throwing this idea in the mix. How about something along the lines of: devestating charge (-1adv) You get more reliable movement but at the cost of charge range representing their slow reaction time. This is of course just an example but keeping with the current theme of trolls you can still achieve a lot with deceptively little! (And I find this hilarious on a rule meta level!)

  • I recently ran a list with wrecking teams, giants with wrecking balls, scrap wagons, and mad gits. Total of 10 glorious random moving units that scared all my opponents like crazy; "how am I suppose to deal with that!?" Statistically you get more even results as it is near impossible to kill them all before they deliver damage and you get crazy board control. But yes, in the spirit of random, when it goes well it goes REALLY WELL and when it doesn't it REALLY DOESN'T. Still absolutely hilarious …
