Amazing the amount of people coming over here complaining about this model. Using these price comparisons from magic gear and choices not commonly taken is pointless. This model existed before at the price point you all seem to want and has never seen an ounce of play. I’ve never seen anyone complain so hard about a t5 model with 4 wounds and no special saves . And to anyone who thinks this model can’t die… maybe try playing a game first

This means that we should get book wide point reduction from the loss of the easy healing right? I know that was used to make points go up at least. That’s way more nerfs than I expected to be honest. Did the ring only come back because it doesn’t work on demons anymore? It’s pretty awful now that it can’t remove armour or special saves since most baddies wound our characters on 2’s without magic.

The dread elf assassin should have a rule that he can ignore challenges. It’s awful gameplay wise that he can’t assassinate a character and it’s super awful fluff wise that an assassin would honour a duel to protect his target. The Vermin assassins can already do this so it doesn’t need to be a new rule.

Feels like a lot of people on here saying the disc is fine haven’t played many games on the table. When your light troops and monsters have to stay within 8” of scoring blocks, they normally can’t do their job. So much of the Saurian army is designed for gorilla warfare, not head on battle line clashes. for the sake of it . Grab a 20 man infantry block and measure 8” around it. The distance is tiny

Since dread elves don’t have very strong magic weapons , what is an on foot build that would seem actually playable? Great weapon blessed inscriptions , destinys call ? He can never use a shield so his armour will never be great. If anyone thinks this guy can beat an ogre khan I’d be surprised for sure

Thanks for the response! I would have loved to play against your list and your absolutely right . I would have been pushing my fast elements into single points to try and crash through lines. It would be tough for sure! It’s nice to see someone else recognize the vulnerability’s in my list (such as the death cheater character) and if I were to go to a tournament tomorrow I wouldn’t bring this list as it is. The tournament was a lot of fun and I’m not disappointed in the army I brought. In the last post I mentioned a few changes I’d like to make, such as bringing a second Phoenix maybe instead of the second griffon , and maybe swapping some spears for seaguard to help me against chaff. Or maybe trading the sky sloops for bolt throwers, I did feel like I had to push forward in every matchup , even against warriors which felt weird lol. there were a lot of pictures taken my the T.Os but I didn’t take …

So in conclusion I ended the tournament in 4th place and I’m pretty happy with that result. My magic felt okay with just the master of canreig tower but I did feel like I was missing an extra channel. The magic was purely defensive, in some of the matchups it was quite useful and restoring a wound every turn was very valuable but with a lack of shooting and no offensive magic I did feel the pressure to make things happen in combat . the sloops performed good in game one , shot down a thunder can…
