  • I assume being pushed off the tableedge when losing combat, even if you don’t break, means you will have to advance if you want to make use of high leadership to keep enemies occupied.

  • Having played through many editions of measuring a wheel during a charge and without the luxury of premeasuring I can confidwntly tell y’all that it is not a problem. Zero problem.

  • Quote from Pesh: “Quote from Giladis: “Quote from Pesh: “The goal right now with GW games is that they shouldn't last much more than 2-2.5h ” This has been the goal for the last quarter century I have been in this hobby. ” Honestly I don't agree with that statement at all. When I started over 20 years ago, it was an expectation that you needed to clear half a day to play - so after school was doable if you didn't have a job, weekends were almost necessary more often than not, because the expecta…

  • Quote from Flames: “and if i remember correctly DM had a like huge community. The Giant Fanatic tournamnet was the biggest in Europe. Attended a tourney once...boy you guys drink a lot ” We did have a huge community and he giantvfanatic tournament used to sell 100 ticket in a day or so. Having been out of the tournament scene for a while I recently found out that I couldn’t actually find any info on 9th age tourney except one.

And no one “pushed” you or anyone to play that way. Would you tell me LoTR MESBG is equally a competitive game just because there are official tournaments for it? ” yes, gw employe push us to play in that way when we do tournaments in the official shop douring 5th ed. they made campaign too, but was always competitive because if y…

  • People are either unaware or deliberately ignorant about Warhammers origin and the way it was ontended to be played. “Competetive gaming” was not something it was designed for. And it was quite obvious that the designers had very little desire to cater to competetive gamers, especially after all the abuse they got from them. The game is designed to be played with friendly, gentlemanly people. A game where two armies(no, not lists) meet in battle to let a story unfold. Some gamers never got this.…

  • Quote from Reconquer Designs: “Quote from Izomov: “Quote from Reconquer Designs: “Not everyone thinks like you do ” Find me a person that honestly likes losing when competing with other humans, and i'll show you a liar.Be it Ludo, Monopoly, Talisman, WHFB, DnD or even SINGLEPLAYER VIDEO GAMES, humans want to win, its ingrained in our psyche. Some humans are willing to go further than others to win, but that grain of competitiveness is always there. From what you post, i'd wager you don't actually…

  • Quote from Giladis: “Quote from dan: “all of which was designed to be on 20mm bases. ” I would argue that isn't true especially from mid 7th ed onwards. ” And 4th/5th ed miniatures ate huge compeared to 3rd and 6th ed mini size. my classic high and dark elves will look much better and rank up easier on 25mm, thats for sure.

  • Quote from Reconquer Designs: “You already have an extra rank attacking, plus all the models in the front rank potentially able to attack even if they’re not in base contact, step up may not be necessary ” As I read it, only models with a special rule(probably spears) will get to attack in extra rank. Only models in base contact will get to use more than one attack. I assume that step up will be there.

  • I think these rules look awesome. The new breaktests looks like they open all sorts if possibillies for infantry and countercharges without the horrible steadfast rule.

  • I think its good. I do think that the placement of the howdah sort pf distracts from the dragon. The dragon is hollow so the howdah is too solid for it. I love some of the details on this like the crocodile head and the cat. I would probably assemble it without the howdah and make a sort of saddle instead for the rider(and convert the rider to sit). Much more worried that the basic tomb kong skellies aren’t updated(they are in some of the pics). That skelleuton design is 30 years old, time for a…

  • Quote from SlaveToThePyre: “I would like to know, out of curiosity, if the people who do not want "no pre-measurement" back due to "ways of cheating" are the same who are happy for templates back in TOW. ” Quote from Reconquer Designs: “I THINK I would like no pre-measurement. But I’ve never played with it so I don’t really know how it works. I mean at some point you have to measure to see if you’re in range right? And by the next turn you’ve basically pre-measured ” I would love to have no prem…

  • Surprised that templates come back. But I love it and I’m here for it!

  • Quote from Fleshbeast: “Quote from Flames: “i do wonder though how rebased skaven will look like. I mean the model will be toooo small in a 25mm base, it would make the regiment appear "spread out". While in T9A VS allowed to field more numbers that others AND 20mm i have a beloved cohort theme : Try to imagine my army in 25's? nah.. opinions anyone? Have you considered rebasing any of armies/models? Or will you start something new? the-ninth-age.com/community/in…8f8d583e021d2d898ce0b62bc ” I al…

  • I’m hoping, and guessing, the model count will be significantly lower than 9th age(and 8th ed warhammer). I also think that games will be faster and have a betyee flow. I’m really hoping that they take a page from 40k and simplify some stuff in general.

  • Quote from Kaitin: “Quote from Kristian: “During 6th edition I probably played 100+ games a year. Including a multitude of tournaments. I ran and officiated multiple tournaments as well. I’ve had zero problems playing the game with the rules GW provided. I’ve had maybe a handful of bad games, but that was down to player compatabillity and not the rules. People who never played the rules before 8th and have no idea how it worked, still come here and complain about something they have no knowledge…

  • I too am hoping for some sort of slot system for choosing units. Maybe it will look like 40k with battleline units, maybe it will be a percentage. Warhammer TOW is probably going to have several timelines, so that they can have bixed sets detailing a conflict and ties into the greater story. So every x months they releqse a boxed set with two factions and their rules/armybook along with missions/scenarios.
