join the Open Playtesting League! [QS] [OPL] [UB] [YT]

oh, believe me, we thought about this a lot. we strived to preserve the main engine and the main feel of the game, but going down from 130 pages to 15 requires some changes to be made.

- as far as possible, we either removed (e.g. swiftstride) or integrated (e.g. weapons) stuff.
- in a few cases (e.g. miscasts), we changed the specifics but keep the idea.
- in one or two (e.g. characters joining) we decided it was necessary to change a more nuclear mechanism.

i recognise i might be a bit biased, but all in all i feel that we changed as little as possible, considering that we shortened the rules by some 90%...

keep in mind that some complexity is then re-injected in the Regular and Themed QS lists, to be played with the Advanced rules. the ones you're reading are just meant to be played for the initial few intro games. even if, as you can see from the videos, it does make for quite some interesting games!

ties are good - especially for "worrisome" armies like KoE.
let's see what OnG can do next time, in two days from now, vs the mighty DH!

aaand i myself had a game against @TheWhiteDwarf and his DH.
i played KoE, and yes, i got smashed in the face... but i'll say i don't think that it was a problem with the KoE army itself. i made quite a few tactical mistakes, and in the end just by a whiff i didn't manage to put one of my units in the scoring zone and lost by 1. i had the impression that i lost because my opponent was a better general - not because he had a strongest army. so not much to say about KoE balance here.
i'll try and make a report of that (got screenshots), but talking about reports... we're back, and in great style!

those two mad chaps from Proxy Table Gaming will once again honour the Veil of the Ages channel with their presence, and tomorrow night they'll bring you epic tales about noble undeads and relentless knights. or the other way round. or maybe it was right the first time. anyway:

and the playtesting league goes on!

first things first: the Proxy Table Gaming chaps will delight us with two more quick n' dirty reports, continuing the series of QS mondays. we'll have a very balanced match between OnG and SA - till now, both factions scored a win, a draw and a loss.
then we'll have the most unbalanced SE vs DH matchup - one faction having lost all its previous battles, the other won them all (and even scored a massacre).

but we can't aks them PTGs to play all games, right? for this reasons, we're recruiting six generals, each to play a single game. available armies are OnG, SE, EoS, UD, KoE and WDG. let us know if you're interested in joining the league for a little while, and help us with your feedback!

alright, seems like we have a first idea for the next three matches.
this is quite easy if @Berlioz is happy to play with OnG instead (i know this wasn't the original plan, but what can we do) : )
in this way @panterq can help us with WDG, and @DJWoodelf can help with a game - or maybe two, especially if @Eternal Flitter doesn't want to earn the title of man of the league by playing all three matches. for example:

OnG (Berlioz) - SE (Eternal Flitter)
EoS (DJWoodelf) - UD (Eternal Flitter)
WDG (panterq) - KoE (Eternal Flitter)

would that work for you guys?

EF, you being available for playing all 3 games gives us great organisational leeway, thank you! that'll be our safe option. but if we can fit new players in, i'd try that first. for example:

@Glegut, since your vote came in after we had already hired @panterq as WDG general, is there maybe a different army you'd like to lead? maybe one of the factions chosen by @Eternal Flitter? SE, or maybe UD? or even, if you live close to panterq, do you rather wanna play with KoE in real life?

after that's sorted out, i'd say we'll be ready for some scheduling!

loving what i'm reading! so my proposal is the following:
all games are played on UB (france, germany, UK, two faraway places in poland),
probably with no livestreaming (i'm travelling for work at the moment):
