I honestly can’t be bothered to keep up with like 15 painting logs anymore so let’s just put everything in one place. To drive the point home I’m like 80% certain I already have a painting log called “Dan Paints Everything”, however I honestly can’t remember.

For those who follow my many other logs, I’m grateful for you patience and, undoubtedly, concern.

In any case let’s kick off the insanity with some actual insanity: had a crazy dream that giant rock monsters were chasing me and popping out of the ground. So to conquer my fear I turned them into Hold Guardians I can sacrifice at my whim:

Working on my Piratzzo’s Lost Legion at the moment. Work is slow and tedious but progress is being made on the first 20 or so. These guys just tassels on their spear tips:

I just got a text alert that my eBay package is out for delivery.

Here’s the thing: I didn’t order anything from eBay.

So I checked my history and sure enough on Friday night (when I was about halfway through a bottle of Woodford Reserve bourbon) I placed a $4 bid on small lot of mixed fantasy miniatures. And won. And apparently was drunk enough not to remember doing it, but not too drunk to forget to pay. That would be bad manners.

So this evening I’ll post a picture of whatever this mystery box contains, because the pictures don’t really tell me much. The only thing I can tell for certain is that there’s a Carnosaur.

So...I guess I play SA now?

Yeah so here’s the Whiskey lot:

Carnosaur with warlord, two old metal Saurus cav models, 2 maiden Guard, a dwarf engineer, what appears to be an old dark elf upper torso, two baggies of old plastic one piece models from 5th ed starters, and a really old lead model that will make a dope statue.

Pretty sweet surprise, and well worth the $4 investment.

That carnosaur could make a cool warthrone if you weren’t planning on starting an SA army (or at least, if sober Dan isnt planning on doing so)

Oh my god what a fantastic and horrible project idea: an army you can only work on while drunk.

I’ve thought about a series of battle reports with the same theme.

You could always sell me the 2 maiden guard and make a profit with free stuff. I have to admit though I fear I could be enabling such behaviour :drunk:

The DH army looks very impressive, the rats already look cool but really need tassels because that whole range was plastered with those.

Also, I have the legs for that dark elf, but not the torso.

I have almost the same elephant for mine! (King on top has since been changed to look cooler)

Isn't it beautiful? It's a 1/72 scale War Elephant from Zvezda. They come in a set of two and, in my opinion, make perfect small Elephants in a 28mm scale.

How well does yours fit on a 40x60? Mine has a little bit of overhang but is really just the perfect size imo (I also think I may have an older version of your one, Zvezda rings a bell and it originally had that fancy hat/fan for its head but I didnt like it)

Yeah it's a pretty perfect fit. The base is drying off in the corner of the picture.
