Well, since we have several human factions and several elven factions, we should of course also have several factions of the greatest race.

I have always wanted a "good" army consiting of angels and divine warriors. That is something I feel has been missing...

Would these be official or unofficial (well, not made by the main team, very little os truly unofficial in T9A)?

This is probably a controversial, and possibly far outside the box, idea, but how about we focus on finishing the first 16 books to full FABs, and then we can start drabbling around with niche, special auxilliary lists? Sure, we have 2-4 FABs (not sure if UD and SE count, but they at least have something), and if you like spiky stuff, more is coming (ID next, and then DE last I heard?). But I'm honestly getting disheartened by what I percieve as a lack of care for the factions I'm mainly interreted in, not helped by seeing an ever increasing amount of new ideas (and regurgitated smurfs), that I feel will take even more focus from those. Once the main line is done, then we can expand. Once there's at least a FAB with easy to find fluff, you can start building imaginary castles around that, and people can go on with new stuff.

official Auxillary books is the best you can hope for unless the book fullfills certain gameplay guidelines in terms of playstle and fluff.

There might be 3 elf books but one has half trees. The high elves feel like wood elves. DE are ok.

If it has to be dwarfs, My vote goes for Sky Dwarves. Call them Overlords or something? Sky Waardens?
we already got underground dwarves(DH, miners) we got land dwarves(infernal trains), so lets have sky dwarves.

Really expand on the flying/Hover units. Ambush, scout rules, etc...


The problem with your suggestions is that they seem like they could all be done with Auxillary books. Even Sky dwarves have the same issue - borrow a bunch of entries from existing books, add a few new units and you got an auxillary book.

Auxiliary books are great by the way.


For a brand new faction My real vote goes for The Angelic Host. Aka: Angelic Legions.

Of those armies my vote would go for the Inca dwarfs.

Middle/South-american is something that is not worked with till now and definitely worth it.

I would like it more with a 'lost world' theme incuding dinosaurs, pygmies and ape warriors than dwarfs - but that is just personal interest.

As a completely new army I would also like some kind of angelic warriors.

And as addition to something posted before: sky people or sky merchant.
So: bird people, arcano magical vehicles, mixed races, movement shenanigans.

umm, I don't see the correlation with the Emperors Thunder Warriors in the Unification Wars of Holey Terra, with an Angelic Host army. So no 40mm big infantry plate warriors for the Angelic Host. Sure they got that big dude with the white metal wings but that's about it.

When I think Angelic Host I'm thinking the video game Diablo 2 and 3 as the closest example for inspiration.
The best model inspiration would be from Raging Heroes. ...and of course I think Reaper Miniatures will have a few Angels in their mountain of individual models.

Sky Dwarves are totally from AoS though, lol.

Really not all that similar. But if that is our main criterium for what gets to be a full army, how different are Germany and France really, aesthetically? I mean, they are right next to each other. Better collapse Equitaine and the Empire into one book.

Honestly, merging empire and KoE was discussed. Then the decision was made to nerf empire cav so that KoE could be the Premier cavalry army while Empire could be the Premier infantry army. If it wasn't for legacy rules, they probably would have been merged.

You can't base an entire new book on aesthetics. You have to have playstyles, unit roles, and an interesting way to put them all together(fluff)

That's what I meant, I was just putting it in some hyperbole.

What I mean is that
a) We don't necessarily need entirely new stylistic influences for every faction. See also: all elves kinda look similar. Especially dark and high, plus or minus some spikes.

b) There's quite some diversity between Latin American natives anyway, especially between civilizations centuries apart (the Aztecs were formed in the 14th century, when the Maya golden age had been over for like 400 years). The Inca went from ruling Cuzco and surroundings to the full [i]Tawantinsuyu[/i] only in the 15th century, too, so they had a huge Empire only for a bit over a hundred years before Spain brought them down.

I was thinking about this so I looked up the Inca Empire and it's military.

There are a few similarities between the Inca and Dwarfs already.
They live in a mountains region. They built an intricate road system. They didn't have mounts, they had the stamina to traverse the mountain regions. They built lots of forts. Their army relied on discipline. Retreat in a disciplined manner.
They do ambushes and scouts.
Even their enemies sound like hordes of undisciplined goblins! lol.

And from what we see on ancient aliens, they also had airplane and hellicopter pads on top of mountains. ....Pre-Inca of course but hey, its airplane and helicopter pads in the mountains!


Add a dash of fantasy with heavy armour, guns. Tweak the religion a bit. And presto we got a basis for an incan inspired Dwarves! Could actually be a basis for the regular dwarf book.

If you want to go full Incan for an auxillary book then you can restrict gunpowder. And perhaps get tweak the play style to get some unique flyers at a decent price.

I had an idea for an unofficial book. Some time ago I had an idea for a DH unit but the FAB was so far away and it seemed so unlikely that when the time came there would be acceptance that I decided to make an auxiliary book for DH. Over time the thing has evolved a bit but I find it a nice idea for a homebrew. I'm about to finish it but I have it in Spanish, I have to prepare it to translate the keywords so that the translator does not change the concepts and rules for something similar and is not understood. I didn't want to reveal what the subject matter was because I was a little afraid that someone would copy me but bah, it doesn't really matter. The book is about ethereal dwarfs. They are the dwarf ancestors who rise up to protect their Holds. The book consists of the most typical units of dwarves, most with ghostly form and Aegis 3++/5++, gollems. As for the rules is a mixture of 50% DH, 30% UD, 10% VC and 10% home design. Soon I'll put it in the homebrew section but if you like the idea would be very proud of it being a subsidiary book
