With (almost) all army books and supplements having left the update/beta phase, and the old thread being somewhat outdated, here's a new thread where you can post rules-related questions.

How does Heros Heart work with spells (shamanism, cosmology) that give you more S? How does it work with rules that give you more S, such as BtF from Orcs and Goblins? That weapon could use a rewording because “always” and “at least” seem a bit contradictory. Thanks!

PS: an example. A High Elf Prince with Heros Heart gets Awaken the Beast cast on himself. What’s his S now? 5 or 6?

5, you first apply all bonuses and penalties and then in the end check if it is not lower than S5 AP3 if it is you boost the relevant statistic as it has to be always at least at this value.

quick question on area attacks and units with characters.

I hit a unit with a 4x4 area attack. The unit is 16 strong in a 4x4 formation, so i would do 16 hits to the unit.

However, if that unit would, for example, contain 4 characters (and thus only 12 R&F models) on which i cant distribute hits. Does that result in 16 hits on the Rank and file models.....or would I only hit the 12 R&F models once (thus 12 hits)

Hi! For some reason I am confused here:

- 1 character on pendulum is in a unit of 1 rat (champion)
- 5 wdg warriors are on the flank of the pendulum touching base with the character but not the champion

Can the character on pendulum reform the face the 5 warriors, thus touching 4 with his front facing but 5 thanks to the champion rat?

Or because the character was touching 5 enemies, he is not allow to change his facing...

2. sylvan elves: is it possible to place a forest terrain with sacred seeds and then use mist walker´s mirror in the same round to teleport you in the forest from sacred seeds?

1. Usually hereditary belongs to no path, and therefore, has no attribute to trigger

2. Both happen at the end of the movement phase, so following the rule of simultaneous effects, the owner chooses the order to do so. Therefore, I cannot see why not

Yes, since there are at least as many enemy models engaged after the reform as there were before the reform, that's perfectly fine.

Master of Canreig Tower 150 pts
The model gains Master of Spellcrafting, Protean Magic, Wizard Adept, and Sword Sworn (see Sword Masters Special unit). The model has access to Alchemy, Cosmology, Druidism, Shamanism, and Witchcraft. It knows 3 spells, and always knows The Oaken Throne in addition to these spells.
Fountain of Youth becomes the Attribute Spell for all non-Bound Learned Spells cast by the model except The Oaken Throne, replacing the spells’ corresponding Attribute Spells where applicable.

The last words "where applicable" seem to tell me that the new Attribute spell "Fountain of Youth" only replace attribute, but if there was no attribute in the first place, it is not cast as there is nothing to replace. So no attribute for Hereditary.

Yes, it is.

"where applicable" means that fountain of youth becomes the attribute spell for each spell. If one of those spells already has an attribute, that attribute is replaced by fountain of youth.
So for the alchemy, shamanism, and witchcraft spells, fountain of youth replaces the original A spell, and for the cosmology spell and the H spell, fountain of youth becomes the A spell.

Pretty straightforward, every single spell cast by the model, except for bound spells, gets guiding light as attribute spell. Now, if we left it at that, people might think that spells that already have an attribute might get that attribute on top, which is why the second part is there:

Technically, there's nothing wrong with this wording (no loophole, no contradiction, etc.), but it looks like the second part is needless as the model currently does not have access to any spells that have an attribute (iirc, we streamlined the wording with the HE master of canreig tower).

Where applicable it replaces the previous Attribute. Where is not applicable (i.e. where there was no Attribute in the first place) the rule states (both for MoCT and EH in the post you link) that Fountain of Youth/Guiding Light becomes the Attribute. So as long as the spell is a non-Bound Learned Spell, it triggers the new Attribute.
The post you quote is actually consistent with the answer given in this thread.

Think of it like this:

4 guys, 2 of them married, 2 of them single, take a trip to Las Vegas. All of them hook up with a new girlfriend. The new girlfriends replace the wives where applicable.

Now, would you think that only the 2 married guys have new girlfriends, or that all 4 of them do

?
