The tournament will consist of five games in which you earn tournament points depending on your results. Additional points can be earned for painting and sportsmanship awards as set out below. Players will initially be paired randomly for the first game and will be matched on performance for subsequent games. Players should indicate any regular opponents, and we will endeavour to avoid these match ups in the first random pairing.

Tournament points for each battle will be assessed on a 20-0 scale and will include secondary objective points for each game as stated in the official 9th Age core rules. Deployment, secondary conditions and terrain set up will be designated by the tournament team at each table. Before starting a game, opponents should confirm the status of all scenery.

Games overrunning the 3 hour time allocation will be stopped and scored at the prescribed time. Players will agree the final score on a 20-0 scale between them. If the players are unable to reach an agreement on the final score, the tournament team will adjudicate the final score, but both players will incur a tournament point penalty of 5 points. Protests over slow play may be logged with the tournament team during a game and may be taken into account when determining the final score of a game.

Failure to finish a game within the allotted time will result in an official warning. Should a player fail to finish multiple games additional penalties will be applied; minus 10 points for 2 unfinished games and minus 20 pts for 3 unfinished games.

      Painting and Modelling

Armies should be "WYSIWYG" so far as reasonably possible and so the majority of models (51% of each unit) should physically represent weapon, armour, mounts and equipment choices for the units. Where any unit representation is not immediately apparent, players will ensure the unit's details are clearly communicated to their opponent.

Models can be from any range or company but must be of the appropriate type for the unit they are representing, and must be on the correct base sizes. If you have any questions regarding the models you wish to use, please contact the tournament team at tallonkarrde1@gmail.com before the event. All units composed of more than 10 models should be accompanied by an appropriately sized movement tray.

All armies should adhere to a 3-colour paint minimum and should be based your army should be at least 75% painted and based. Failure to adhere to the event standard will incur a 10-point penalty. A single award for Best Army will incorporate painting and modelling scores which will be determined by the tournament team. Additional marks will be given to armies which have a strong theme and exceed the minimum requirements for attending this event.

After each game, each player is required provide their opponent a score out of 10 for sportsmanship. After all 5 games, if you have received an average score of 40 or less, you will be deducted 3 tournament points.

Failure to vote will mean you are deducted 3 tournament points. The tournament team expects everyone participating to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner, to respect their opponents, the tournament team and the venue hosting the event. We do not expect to encounter any problems, but should anyone believe their opponent is deliberately breaking rules, slow playing, or any other issue of concern, please contact a member of the tournament team immediately. Penalty points may be imposed at the discretion of the tournament team.
