  • We want you as 3rd DH ACS

    Hello Ladies and Gentleman,
we are looking additional ACS for your army. Of course that job brings prestige, reading and writing access to several internal boards and so on, but what does the project want from you in return?

We want you to be the voice of the community towards the project and the voice of the project towards the community. (You will transport and sort wishes and problems from the community towards the project and you will present the doings of the project to the community.

We want you to be an advisor (among others)/ a voice of the community in Updates and the FAB process.

We want you to start projects (fiction / painting contests, battlereport weeks, polls, stratigic/ tactic article series, tryouts of unused units, Brainstormings, …) in your board.

We want you to take care your community is friendly towards each other and towards guests from other armies or even not yet players of T9A.

If you are interested, please either apply through the application system or PN @IoRi78 and @Just_Flo

You want DH ACS to stop dwarfen players from grumbling?
    Good luck with this.
Would not that be the same as stopping them from breathening?

    - What freedom would I have to conduct surveys, storytelling or painting contests, etc? Would I be able to do what I want, within reason? Would I have to ask permission but would I be likely to be able to initiate those things? Or perhaps you would have to ask for permission on a form, which would be analysed by a group of people who would then send it to another group of experts?

    - What homework or work needs to be done behind the forum? I mean, reporting? Fill out forms? Having to make team video calls and things like that?

I would really like to, DH is the army of my heart and I would be super happy to do something for them, but sometimes my motivation goes up or down and the responsibility doesn't go very much in my character, but I could try if the illusion gives me strength.

Well basically you would inform your fellow DH ACS that you would like to do X. If none of them says better ask Just_Flo / @IoRi78 than why are you still waiting? If they see a potential problem I will help you to make your project become reallity as near as possible to your original vision. (= in 99% of all potential cases you just do it and everyone is happy, in 0.99% it is possible your fellow DH ACS or I could fear a small detail could cause a problem or backlash and it will be easy to circumvent that, pootential in 0.01 % if you have really big ambitions and think great and are very creative you might come up with something which touches so large parts of the project, that ExB would need to give it a go. In that case I would present your idea to the ExB or set you into direct contact with them.)

TdlR = Within reason you would be able to do what you want and if you need assistance or additional infos for your project, I will make sure you get those within reason.

    - What homework or work needs to be done behind the forum? I mean, reporting? Fill out forms? Having to make team video calls and things like that? Every month or every second month a small report how your community feels and if they have a main topic at the moment would be nice. (I trust you to alarm me out of schedule if an emergency on your board should arise) It would be nice if you helped with som lists on the armylist entering thread of your board once a month.
We have 2 PMs. One for chat and gossip and socialising and one for infos and jobs. Jobs can be to open feedback threads and than to collect the feedback und bring it back to me or to animate your community to take part in a certain survey or competition.

I would really like to, DH is the army of my heart and I would be super happy to do something for them, but sometimes my motivation goes up or down and the responsibility doesn't go very much in my character, but I could try if the illusion gives me strength.
That and RL is exactly the reason we want multiple ACS for each army.

When I just saw the title of the thread I instantly thought "it must be either xaby or berti"

    Why one of those?
    * Both are very active and seem to stay up to date in many important threads - even in the "periphery" of the heart of the forum. (Which is, I suppose, for both of them the DH section)
    * In discussions, even if they get heated up, both continue with pure logic. This is very important, as in the western world the so called "ausdrucksallergie" (being allergic to express feelings) is omnipresent. But still, both of them bring insights into the emotional situation. Aristoteles writes, that if something should bug you, you should not push yourself to stay calm, like the "stoa" did, later. It is not professional to be free of emotions, but it is unprofessional to leave the ways of logic - they both fulfill this very important criteria, even tho bertis "Empörung" ... let's say grumbling is louder. (Your choice, of course, how much grumbling-energy is good for the team)
    * I do not know berti in persona - but I know people who do - and everyone talks in high regards of him. He is a community man and I consider him important for the t9a community in our small country - especially as he is the most vocal - at least in the DH section. I think he already is the voice of a big part of the austrian community. This is what engagemt should look like.
    * T9A is not only about playing on tournaments alone, but also about the hobby aspect. I often wish for people with creative minds inside the inner team, giving insights into their creations. Xaby's forum-blog is exactly this - and it represents the mindset of T9A like barely any other for me: He has a lot of skill, doing everything in high quality, modifying units, building and creating so much by himself, without losing sight of the guiding ideas. He is a real "demiurg". This is how the hobby aspect should be lived.
    * This is about the dialectic approach to things: Those, who read my comments in the forum, know that I like to bring arguments next to another (thesis and antithesis) while not coming to a simple synthesis - but resulting into an "aufhebung" (there is no english word for many termin of hegel, but let's call it "lift up" or "abolish". Xaby seems to always enter for both sides into the fray. I even saw him conceding, when a tendency of his argument went fail. This is huge and should be rewarded.
    * This is about persistency: "WMs have round bases and our magic lacks offensive potential - it should be changed!" - How often have we read these things? It could already be the slogan for a "vote berti" campaign. And I think he is a real dwarf in this perspective. He never gets tired of fighting against windmills. T9A is a project that moves slowly, but it moves forward and lets many people lose their most important insights and arguments, by making them give up. Berti is a welcome constant in this process.

Coming to an end I'd like to say, that I think that the inner dynamic af the already formed team should be the deciding criteria. The team representing our sub-community should be a wild mix, but fight on one front. I can see both of them giving the team a needed drive and I would be glad to be represented by both of them, seeing myself as a small part of the DH community of this forum - and both of them as important contributors to T9A in general and for the DH subsection alike.
    :DH: :OK: :O&G: :DE:

Wow, thank you for those kind words. It's a compliment that you put me at Berti's level (and recently I was told that my blog is almost like Dan's, you can get better comparisons?) He always makes very accurate comments and I agree with what he says most of the time. I remember that when I entered the forum, I always gave Like in his comments, in the end I reached a point that I thought I would take for a fan of his. It's true that he can be a bit grumpy or vehement, but that should be a prerequisite for anything related to HD, right? I am not so analytical or rational, I move more by how I would like something to be, if it gives me the right feeling, etc. I am moved by the illusion of a project, if the illusion that it generates in me is at its maximum, I cannot stop.

PS: if it helps to say it, during this confinement by the virus I have grown a beard. That's a +1 for me. The bad thing is that I don't drink alcohol, which is actually a -100, I think.
