Maybe it's my meta full of WoDG, KoE and Dwarfs but I'll never take a AP0 combat unit. Even AP1 Succubi, which I've played extensively, struggle hard with any tanky infantry and have lost to even small units of knights. I don't take them any more. On the other side I've laughed as turn after turn a unit of AP0 Hoarders failed to do any wounds to my KoE.

Since any tournament could easily see me facing 2+ entirely armoured opponents, spending any significant points on AP0 is just a bad idea. Basically the more my lists prioritise AP the better I do.

Super looking forward to the book.

This is one of the reasons I love Daemon Legions - no armour! So lists that prioritize expensive AP are a good matchup. But the flipside is that some AP 0 units are a big threat such as the Old Blades of Nabh from DE(the new temple militants are laughable).

The following post is indeed a request for spoilers, but:

DISCLAIMER - I have understood and totally approve the policy of not sharing the Alpha before it is in a relatively stable situation, lest the book gets dismembered due to a rash publication: what is best for both the team and the community is to avoid harsh discussions after radical changes that may leave the community unhappy. So I'm totally ok with delays as long as they help providing a well designed work.

Having said so, I wonder if there is no aspect of the book that can be considered "solid" enough to be leaked. I get that sharing something that may be changed could end up being a mistake: but isn't there anything in the current state of the book that is not going to be changed radically, no matter how flawed the book proofs? Isn't there any "core" aspect of the book that is set in stone and that can be leaked without the risk of sharing something volatile? Isn't there any unit profile that has 0 possibilies to be considered overpowered and can be shown to the world lightly?

The short answer is probably yes, but you would not have context. A profile with AWSR1 AWSR2 and XXXpoints does not give you the information required to properly evaluate an entry, and thus incorrect conclusions could be drawn and the wrong first impression could be made.

I will talk to the team if there is anything else we are happy sharing at this stage. However, a lot of things are currently being discussed which may or may not have knock on consequences to different aspects of the book.

I hope the wait won't be too much longer :GobboParanoia:

Got it. And it is clear that AWSRs are not necessarily set in stone (thinking of Infernal Brand...). But there may be some entries outside AWSRs, such as Trolls or Gnashers, whose profiles may be vanilla enough to be easily leakable without harm. Dunno.

It's not just about my personal gluttony for spoilers. Hype is a key-factor in community engagement; I remember that when the ID LAB was about to come out, there were plenty of users spending a lot of time in speculation and discussion and that was fun. Unfortunately the development of the book was full of issues after the release of the Alpha, so it is clear to me that hype MUST be balanced with cautiousness. But just a bit of salt would be enough.

Ok... to summarize a bit... Force of Destruction means that the model is immediatelly removed after providing some damage. This would be quite different then to our current Mad Gits and Wrecking Teams. I hope there will be another rule for some of them as it would be a bit sad not having the fear and fun of eating your own Fanatics.

The git launcher is nice, very nice! I really like it so far! With the smalle exception of 12-48". This is quite a short range slot, maybe either the min range should be reduced or (preferrable) the max range increased.

But many thanks for the spoilers! I'm still VERY hyped!

Interesting.

So this means the former mad git now got a fancy new name, doing pretty much the same as before, but is definitly killed when he touches an oponent.

@Git launcher. So if the secondary shoot hits, I can choose a point within 3" of the target unit, or the center of the unit? And then it is a former mad git delivered by the launcher?

Hm…I like the idea of the git launcher.
But the Force of destruction-Rule…I am not sure.

Only hitting one unit and being destroyed after the contact is much worse than Ricochet-Rule.
I wonder how the rules for wrecking teams will be.

That’s the problem of spoilers: you do not see the whole picture. But having no spoilers at all isn’t satisfying either.

Very interesting way of handling this. Not sure I agree as it, at least with what we see here, removes some of the more wild situations you might end up in as an O&G player. On the other hand it can be a positive as you won't have random Mad Gitz flying right back in your face the following turn.

Somewhat echoing Berti, does the O&G player get to place the Mad Git upon a partial hit or is it random / shortest distance to stay clear of the target unit? Would be pretty sweet if a partial hit meant we can just place a Mad Git right in front of the target unit (or a nearby enemy unit).

So it’s more like a one shot-artillery, but more difficult to get to the opponents unit you like to.
Maybe we can play more wrecking teams now and price goes down. We will see.

By the way, I never understood the problems with ricochet to be honest.
