If you use the Dragon Claw on a Kensai, it has Off 8 and can gain +1 Attack, so you have 4 attacks hitting alomst everything on 3+ or better with Kenjutsu. That's bit too good. For the Daimyo it's probably ok... But not for this guy...
Katana is +1 S, +1 Off. Nothing else. Core Samurai (or Oath Keepers) can buy rending banner to get AP 1 / AP 2 .
Is the Lore on the kensai he is a loner wandering lordless samurai? If so would be very simple fix "this item may not be taken by models with not a leader" or give the kensai outlaw? If hes just meant to be a master duelist, it still keeps it off him. What about limiting his item allowance to 100, that way he can take the dragon katana but he only has a 5+ aegis every other turn so he's probably being hit on a 4+ or 5+ but then he s only resilience 4 no armour.
Taneka Item: Well, in the version that is currently uploaded, there is a banner giving light troops to a cavalry unit. But for the update, I deleted it because I felt it was no longer necessary .
I've not used this mainly because if I take a big cav unit my first thought is usually the strider banner. But a charter addition to this could make red devils unit or even a big samurai can unit nasty they are going to need something for the lossof yari at st5 (unless the plan is make yari standard lances when mounted)
What about a Mempo (Mask used as Samurai Armour)? Something frightening that gives the bearer Fear? I'm still thinking about an additional effect... Better chance of completing charges (e.g. re-rolling 1s for charge moves)? As part of the armour, maybe some defensive bonus?
Sounds good kabuki masks and demonic oni visage were common on samurai masks so somethinhbwith this adds character
Or maybe a special Light Lance enchantment? I don't think there is something like this anywhere in the game yet, as everyone else has access to ordinary lances. As Nippon does not have these, this might also be a cool idea. I still have no idea what it could be, though.
Light lance enchantment are a good idea (I belive syvanelves do have them, But I could be wrong)
As to what they should be I be no idea. Dev charge kenjistu (1) effectively double hits but with a +1 st and only on the charge it shouldn't be too ott.
Ap bonus or lethal strike. I know this kind of goes against the no high ap in the army though.
