How old are you? 33

Where are you from and where do you live right now? From and live in Scotland (surprisingly!).

What do you do for a living? I work as a lawyer in the media sector.

Since when are you in the hobby? Probably around 1996 or so.

How did you get into the hobby and what have you done since then? Bretonnian knights were the first models to catch my eye, but my first real army was Wood Elves (which were given away/lost over the years). Then after a bit of a hiatus I picked up on Orcs and Goblins. This has been a ten year love affair, the random and gloriously mad nature of greenskins was a great release. I was also steeped in the lore, playing computer games, WFRP, Mordheim, always drawn to the fantasy world.

Which armies do you play/possess? I currently play Orcs and Goblins (mostly goblins!) and Kingdom of Equitaine. I am in the process of gathering assorted models for my next project, which will be Undying Dynasties, Sylvan Elves or Infernal Dwarves (probably all three at varying speeds!).

Why do you support the 9th Age project? Since joining the 9th Age, I have been amazed to see how much enthusiasm exists in the community. So many people are committed to making a game for the community to enjoy, and the positivity I see every day overcomes any doubts that this project has legs! The motivation is an incredible one, to dedicate our time and energy without reward, other than improving the hobby we love. Also, the talents on display are immense - helping to create products which would not look out of place in a professional setting.

What is your personal role in the 9th Age project team? I am the Head of the Background Team, so my role is to lead and guide the creation of the new background for the 9th Age. This means keeping the Background Team populated with talented and engaged writers working together, guiding the development of the overall T9A world, and then engaging with the detail of each faction. Over time this will develop into a complete setting which I hope will be interesting to all fantasy fans, and will serve as inspiration for new players to pick up a faction to collect, or older players to expand their current collections.

I also hope that the background will be built on with narrative campaigns, fan-written stories, scope for roleplay games and the like in times to come!
