The latest issue of the 9th Scroll is here! You can read all about it in the news.

  • Ive been using the same sorry, beat up, mismatched terrain forever. My army actually looks not too bad and the table is letting the immersion down. Cohesive and matching my basing will make me more than happy. Will definitely try my hand at some water effects though

  • Really nice stuff, the water pieces and the shrooms especially! After seeing so much awesome scratch build terrain lately i have finally decided that my dreadful table finally deserves some love and ordered some supplies!

  • Really cool project man and sharkticon gnasher does totally look like the transformer! Awesome. I tried to make a mangler squig once but it was pretty awful, the orcs and goblins are long gone and my sculpting skills have increased a very minor amount! You really should make some casts too. I regret not casting stuff ive sculpted (even if its not that good) before i painted them, plus yours look great so you could probably sell them for a decent price. Always nice when the hobby can finance itse…

  • Quote from Kdownunder: “Im kinda missing trolls and cannon. ” Have a game of 8th ed, fail your stupidity test on the crucial turn you were about to charge and roll two 1's for the hellcannon and the fond rose tinted memories will fade away (not wretched oneing you, i actually did this in protest when the new book came out!)

  • They would be fools to turn it down. Well written, good concepts, what's not to like!

  • Is this official fluff? If so great, I really like it. If not make it so, I really like it!

  • Is Mark Borland allowed 94 extra points because he's using exclusively the worst choices in the warriors book? If so I'd let him have more wink.png Chris Legg looks to be confident, running a mere 3730points in his list. I like his style! Liam Wordsworth has overpaid for nearly every unit in his army also, suspect an old book has been used and 5 extar flame wardens paid for as they start at 15. Not trying to be obtuse here or anything, just curious about lists and though I'd post up some irregul…

  • Alright. Enough is enough. Can all these paid GW shills just do one and leave us alone?! If you don't like T9A and think it has no future, great, keep it to yourself and play your favourite game. Nothing lasts forever, everything dies eventually, this is no shock, we don't need 50 posts a day on our forum telling us we're doomed and failing. It's the equivalent of posting letters through someones door telling them they'll die one day and their life hasnt been as productive and successful as it c…

  • Anyone know when the post etc nerffix is coming in so i can write a new list without heroes heart in preparation?!

  • For the love of god dont get back on the track of nerfing things cos they arent rubbish! Give people new options by making alternatives more attractive, dont force people to try new options by killing their favourite ones. This is pretty much the only thing i dont like about this game.

  • Quote from kisanis: “It's called swiss paired tournament! win and the fun scales down and the serious scales up, lose and the opposite occurs ” Join us at the bottom tables. ONE OF US. ONE OF US. Seriously - its where the most fun can be found.[/quote] Haha its usually where i spend half my time when i can make it to a tourney. I have the curse of being good enough to win on the bottom table and get catapulted up to play someone out of my league and get dumped down again. Its a rollercoaster rid…

  • Quote from Eldan: “I mean, I would, if I could. But my store went from 30 WHFB players every weekend to one game of X-Wing, Shadespire, Infinity or Malifaux and being otherwise deserted. I was on board with a lot of the early ideas 9th age had. I know pretty well that magic as written didnt' work in 8th edition. If I could have wishlisted, I would have been up for completely rewriting unit types, the morale system, several army books, sure sure and sure. But instead, it was just all the best rul…

  • Quote from Eldan: “I'm well aware. I just used to have hope for this project. ” What project would it have been? keeping everything the same as WHFB and uploading free pdfs of all the books? new books for skaven, beastmen and brettonia? pretty sure WAP or whatever it's called has already done that. You can still play 8th ed (or earlier if you like) WHFB you know, I do sometimes

  • Quote from Sir_Sully: “Quote from WastelandWarrior: “it isn't broke and doesnt need fixing. Id much prefer manpower was put into working on the other full army books etc and I'm glad the project directors seems to think the same way. Im sorry that all you see when you play are broken rules and nothing working as it should, because for me it all seems pretty damn good. Games between my group are closer than ever (far fewer 20-0's) than in any previous system, which can only be a good thing imo. ”…

  • Quote from berti: “Hero heart enchantment has a huge price discount for the effects. (based on the assumtion that you take it on a St. 4 charakter. Of course it is taken very often. In my opinion it should be a pure hand weapon enchantment, not a one for paired weapons. Because having rather cheap +1 Offensive WS and +1 attack on top from paired weapon is huge with the big discount. Perhaps even reduce the built in AP on it. Compare it to a dwarfen runic weapon that trys to recreate it....70 poi…

  • Quote from Eldan: “Quote from Warboss_R'ok: “that would be great. Can anyone provide more examples of the types of fun/crazy mechanics that we are talking about? ” You called? Just off the top of my head. Assassins. I'm still salty that we lost them, they were the best. Instead, we got some dudeds with no armor who stand around in the front line holding poisoned daggers and looking stupid. Army specific lores. Specifically: Skitterleap. So many tactical possibilities. Death Frenzy. Crack's Call.…

  • Quote from Warboss_R'ok: “Would it be possible to make a game that scales on the fun vs serious aspect? ” It's called swiss paired tournament! win and the fun scales down and the serious scales up, lose and the opposite occurs

  • Quote from Xerces91: “Ok, I'll try to create a post for our tournament. But we are very new so we don't have figurines or decor yet. We are playing with paper and what ever we have to create the battle field ha ha ” haha no worries I'm sure we all started there at one point! whatever is fun is good by me

  • Quote from jirga: “I wasn't laughing much when I played whfb. Gritted my teeth most of the time. There was good times obviously too. Rules didn't create those moments though, it was the company. ” This is the crux of the matter for me. The company and the spirit in which the game is played is paramount. Getting new players and keeping new members depends on being a pleasant opponent when you get a game with a newbie. ROFLstomping them while behaving like a turd won't make them come back for more…

  • Happy to give advice anytime. If you get time let me know how the games go and if you're feeling like it take some pics of the games and post them up, love seeing other peoples armies!
