  • UP Entry 1: Necro Guard: too low of a resurrection value (3), 6+ armour save is a waste of ink UP Entry 2:skeleton cavalry. Worst unit in the game UP Entry 3:large units of skeletons UP Entry 4: skeleton archers with the current line of sight and our larger entries UP Entry 5: Dread Sphinx UP Entry 6: Casket UP Entry 7: Sha Guardian UP Entry 8: Ark of Ages

  • I think a better example would be a simple 5-wide, 60-Skeleton block. The unit is charged in the flank by another unit, let us use 5-wide, 20-dwarf block of long beards with some meaty characters like the king on shield bearers, a Dragon Seeker, & BSB. The point of contact was the last 4 rows of the unit because there is Sphinx blocking the dwarves ability to maximize. So 24 attacks (6 king+bearers, 8 dragon seeker, 3 BSB, 7 from the unit) Dwarves: charge, flank, +3 ranks, banner, BSB, 20 wounds…

  • If you are still looking for undead Egyptian themed foot troops, you should give crocodile games a view. I plan on purchasing some archer units in the future to replace my old GW ones. To make it easy, here is their direct link to their undead below: crocodilegames.com/store/itemList.cfm?catID=31&sort=prodID They also have living Egyptian models and various units that are inspired by the old Egyptian Gods to choose from. They also have a Colossus model that I am contemplating of purchasing as we…

The theme will be based on video games starting with Double Dragon. The other two Nintendo games we plan on drawing inspiration from are Contra & Super Mario Bros 3. On Day Two, we are switching to Sega Genesis. We looking at Sonic the Hedgehog and Mortal Combat. In terms of scoring system, we are thinking about either a 20-0 or OhioHammer’s 5-15 system. We will get more details out shortly

Quote from Windelov: “What do people think of the update cycle of GW? warhammer-community.com/2017/1…dec-15gw-homepage-post-2/ I mean GW has the longest history and largest geographical presence and the most means (professional staff and finances) to run this. Why wouldn’t we just adopt that? ” Do you think that GW may have taken their ques from the 9th Age Project? I find it compelling that companies like GW & Fantasy Flight have both started v2.0 of their own. Both companies are on a quest to …

I hope that I speak for a decent chunk of the United States players when I say that this is what we are seeking: •BRB rules set in stone. That way we can learn/memorize the complex rules. Then we can go out into the world and spread the good word about 9th Age to those that were on the fence about the project and even convince others that used to play to come back. •Paths of Magic & magical items that should be included with a potential printed BRB book also set in stone. This way lads can print…

I am very appreciative that many T9A volunteers, leaders of various teams, and all the red label executives that have taken the time to reply and discuss the various subjects on this thread (a few off-topic discussions). This thread was originally created by @Cealyne when the February HotFix was released. The main issue back then was the mishandle of that patch. A lot of us were upset about how various army books got hit hard (some harder) by the nerf bat after a month release. Many of us endure…

Quote from JimMorr: “You miss one point. It is beta. Rules you play are in design stage. Project has to create designs which at the same time are well balanced, fit the army playstyle and fit within the army community acceptance zone. From .200 the process continues. Alternative would be recruiting 250 playtesters and organizing a 'secret ligue'. Can you imagine amount of outcry, spoilers and caused by them flamewars resulting from such approach? This is community driven project, gets accused ag…

Hey everyone! I have been liking what I agree with throughout this thread. I am going to throw out a prospective view from an average gamer like myself who currently only has time to dabble through 9th Age info. Back in the WFB days, I actually used to know what each unit in each army book used to do. I would spend (waste) the $50 in order to purchase each new Army book that came out in 8th edition just so I knew what I was facing when I played the game. With only six game turns to accomplish vi…

  • Quote from rolan: “The casket casts his bound spell 6/6, why not give the 3-dice-version a slight buff? "If 3 dice are used, the Discipline Test is subject to maximised roll" How about it? ” Please don’t take this as being disrespectful but the current spell involves utilizing all three Dice to determine if they pass or fail their Discipline test. Are you suggesting that the larger version uses 4 Dice? If so, I would be onboard for that as long as the cost stays current Personally, I am in an ag…

  • I took a big block of 59 skeletons with spears to CornerHammer GT and came away with mix results. •in game 1 against empire, they acted as a deterient and never engaged in combat •in game 2 against kingdom of equitaine, they were amazing against the knights!!! Granted, magic played a big part in their ability to deal out damage (I had Perception of Strength & Awaken the Beast) •game 3 they were eaten up and spitted out by daemons •game 4, I put them in a bad position and had them take on Tomb Re…

I prefer the halberds version to the Shabtis. Like the others that mention it above, I use them to deal with my opponent’s higher armour save units.
