Taki - - Undying Dynasties (UD)

    Post

Quote from Herminard: “On the nature of the arched shot as a means to provide cover fire. ” You might be surprised but this is a bit of a complicated question. So, let me start by saying that context is King. And let me follow that by saying that each type of bow out there is very different in scope of design and use; as are all the accompanying arrowheads and shafts. In some cultures and times the bow was considered the be all and end all, and in others it was thought to be a mere hunting tool,…

Quote from Herminard: “Quote from Folomo: “Quote from Herminard: “Why is it making big gribblies harder to kill that a unit that could shoot it with regular bow fire now gets access to another mode of fire. I dont get the premises of that argument. ” Unless the area attacks causes equal or less hits than normal shooting (in which case it would be pretty much meaningless), an area attack rule will make the archers achieve a higher amount of hits againg 150x100 unit than against a 150x100 monster,…

    Taki - - Suggestions

    Post

Quote from Herminard: “Champions should become an immortal part of the unit on the same basis as the rest of the command group - and the champion should recieve more interesting tasks than to be the fodder of greater foes. I can from the top of my head not think of a single military entity where there were not some primus inter pares at work. @Taki? To not render the challenge mechanic obsolete - perhaps allowing the Champion to issue challenges as per now is fine - but if he dies, the regiment …

As I have stated before here and in other places, I'm a big fan of fire forge games and have already pledged on this kickstarter, I like the miniatures on offer though the tower and walls are far too expensive for me. I do have some questions though When will we have access to the beta test rules and what kind of input is being looked for (just broken combos or a fuller evaluation?) Will there be rules for using your historical models in this game? Will the rules also include army lists for othe…

Taki - - New army books

    Post

Interestingly enough, all of the "magic" we ascribe to arab flavored armies is actually Byzantine in nature (whom they considered great wizards and magicians historically), especially alchemy and the crafting of magical artifacts. I'll do some digging to see what the Romans thought of the arabs and their magical traditions and myths if you want.

I just got my TMS Equitaine KS stuff, I've got to say I'm a little disappointed. While the models themselves are good sculpts and a quality product, part of the reason I backed this kickstarter was the great concept art for female knight/models. I even went so far as to ask if it were possible to get those models exclusively. Now, after going through my models, i find that I have none of those models in my order. I then went to their website, and it seems that they never produced those models, a…
