Spoken as someone who never got to "enjoy" the "fun" aspects of Animosity on a D6.T9A is becomming a very sad and hollow game if we let compettitiveness prevail - just accept this game has random elements and enjoy them. It's good fun!@Stygian I fear you might be right. Though I sure most tournies many tournies will use the fun rules, as they are ... more fun.
And there is alot of room for more originality in the 9th Age.
And @tommytucker, I dare state that by cutting out fun and sometimes (moderate) random elements T9A will loose out on much more then it will gain. T9A is still carried by a large group of players, and not all are your hardcore tourny boyz that like to cut out all random elements. A large part of the player base is a group and will be alienated if the game is continued down the current path.
So, I am not pro introducing win-or-lose rules in the main rules, but I am promoting more fun and variance - which is perfectly possible but just requires some head-hurtin.
Booooooaaaaaarsssss .... Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge !!!
